7/22 Show Discussion Thread **SPOILERS**

Brandon and Jeanine's waltz was a kind of pretty dance, but for me, they did dance it like they didn't "get" the waltz.

I DO think the music was a lot of the problem. Beautiful, but it was more like a funeral dirge than a waltz, to me.

Not one of my favorites.

And Mia is being a bitch to Brandon tonight, I think.

Like Nigel, I snored. It was a tough draw for them, but even so, they didn't make much of it.

Once more, I notice the judges don't DARE judge the choreographer. Who the heck PICKED that music, guys? The Invisible Man/Woman?

I didn't see a connection between the two dancers, but it wasn't bad.

Jason comes back to a more traditional routine this week. Very good technique; a nice short number

Melissa and Ade - Cha Cha by Tony and Melanie to Yeah by Chino Espoinozo
This may be a challenge. Fiery red dress for Melanie and red slacks for Ade. Some really not-so-great moves in there on both their parts - some of it looked awkward. Most of it was OK, though. But they need better than OK at this point.

Judges: Nigel warns Melissa to watch her turnout because it kills the hip moves. Mary says Ade's butt was too high; both of them had their feet moving all over the place. Mia thinks it was Ade's worst of the season, but Melissa did an excellent job.

Loved the choreography on the cha-cha.

Don't feel like Ade hit the moves as hard or as sharply as Melissa consistently did.

Liked it better than the waltz, though.

I find the Cha-Cha inherently a bit lame, so I didn't really enjoy that.

I'm thinking Melissa is being sent home. The judges seem to be making sure of that. (well, except Mia seems to be going her own way and flipping up which of the two gets tossed on the fire...)

Janette's solo? More proof this show will be a travesty if she doesn't win the whole thing.

Jeanette Solo to Seduce Me by Celine Dion
Beautiful almost contemporary style solo (plus just a little salsa at the end). Her best solo of the season.

We're half way through and I have to say so far this night has been kind of meh. (Except for the group number.)

Kayla and Jason - Broadway by Tyce DiOrio to Mr. Monotony from Jerome Robbins Broadway
Kayla is making like Cyd Charisse and with those legs that's not a bad way to go. Jason really seems to have kicked up his game. Inspired by last week's number? Very well done. Best of the night so far for me.

Judges: Great work from both of them, says Nigel. Mary says Jason was cool and suave and Kayla gets a train whistle. Mia loved the fusion of blues style, but Jason has to work on his upper body slouch. Mia predicts Kayla could be a Broadway star.
