Oh sad, I like Neil so much! He's so funny. I'd like to keep him around just because he keeps me so entertained every time he's on the screen. And I like Neil and Lauren's partnership. But I agree, they hasn't been dancing the best. It's just this year with so many great dancers, everyone needs to perform OUTSTANDING each week. Lauren and him need to pull a Wade Robson choreography out of the hat or rock a Mia Michaels if they want to remain in the competition.

Neil definitely didn't deserve to be in the bottom three this week...it was shocking to say the least. Him and Lauren made the floor HOT!

    ...and I want his hair!
So you think you can dance? haha! Check out my personal blog site dedicated to SYTYCD3, it's in my profile!

Sorry, but that tango was atrocious. The judges went WAY too easy on them. He was just going through the moves and doing a caricature of the dance, no body awareness of his partner at all... Neil actually made Lauren look bad last night. I expected Nigel to call him on it.
You are so right. I’m loath to admit that I started to like him following the hip-hop routine and even thought to compare him to Travis from last season. I plead temporary insanity which I think was a direct result of being blinded by his overly bright white sneakers. His tango was atrocious and the only way his solo on Thursday could be characterized as “outstanding” is if this was a gymnastics competition.

I think that we are being hard on Neil since he hasn't gotten anything even close to his style, plus he's drawn two ballrooms with a weak ballroom partner and mediocre choreography. Yes, Kameron did better on his ballroom but he has a ballroom partner. I did very much like Neil's hip hop. I'd love to see Neil in a dance close to his style with good choreography, although I am beginning to doubt that Lauren is as talented as they are making out so that could bring it down.

I thought he did a fantastic solo. In 30 seconds, it is about the tricks and his was as loaded as I've ever seen. I mean, Shauna's was better, but it was the spinning trick she did that sold me on her solo, and Neil did that and more.

I say this believing that it was right for him to be in the bottom 3 and upset that my favorite Jesus left. I also thought Danny and Anya deserved to be in the bottom 3, but I firmly believed Cedric would be the one leaving so I wasn't worried about Neil or Danny. Maybe next week they won't show a big long speech from Cedric and the judges won't be so harsh. Remember Simon Cowell's near silence toward the end of Sanjaya's run.

Sorry Melly, but what Neil does isn't gymnastics..not even rhythmic gymnastics. It is ballet based. Tricks, yes. Gymnastics, no. Back handsprings and arials, are acrobatic tricks, but are very much a part of dancing in todays world. Judges and audiences love "tricks". It saved Shauna and now Neil. The twisting jumps are classical ballet moves. Neil's solo was just a bunch of tricks, but why not? That's what people want to see.

I do like seeing tricks if they put together smoothly and have cohesiveness/fluidity, but I don't think that Neil had either of those in his dance last night. For me it wasn't impressive in the least.

As much as I think Niel is great, he should've been sent home. He is outstanding at his own style of dancing but two of the three dances he has performed have demonstrated his weaknesses.

Neil is SO cute but I think he is a sloppy dancer and I find it hard to believe he's won the titles that he has. Every week, when he dances with Lauren, I feel like he is phoning in his performance. I thought he might be a contender for the final 6 but, after watching him for 3 weeks, I doubt it now.

His tricks might be ballet based – though I seriously doubt they put much emphasis on back-flips and flip-flops at the Royal Winnipeg Ballet School – but the single fact that there was no flow or dance elements between his tricks makes it gymnastics. IMO it was a very poor performance and Neil needs to wise up to the fact that great tricks don’t equal great dancing.
