Has it already been pondered how FOX can afford to pay for the original artists' recordings, but Dancing with the Stars on ABC forces us to listen to amateurs?
I am surprised that the skating is this good. I expected it to be a total disaster. I agree about Bruce's face and skating.

Poor Kristy is bleeding. She is almost as big as Lloyd, they look clumsy to me. "Toe pick" is right.

Kristy & Lloyd -
Looks like she took out all of the local WalMart's tinsel supply to make that costume... Woah, nice swan lift! That's a lift many of the top amateur skaters don't even do! And what an unfortunate slipup on basic skating. And OUCH! She smacked her chin on the ice on the flyaway move..... man, that was rough. I have no idea how that will be scored, it technically should be put in last because of the spill.

Someone give the poor girl a Band-aid or something. Damn.
-
She should get combat pay.
-
I think the old guy (Simon wannabe?) fussed about the lifts because he thought the pro was carrying the amateur through the routine (literally). I agree that he is pushing too hard based on her limited ability. As we saw she needs more practice with basic skating.

Deborah & Kurt -
Nice opening kartwheel lift, then a good extended, rotational dance lift. Her lunge wasn't very low.. I expect the judges to deduct for that. I find the program has a lot less technical content than the previous programs, and that should hurt the scores, but the presentation skills were very good, I thought.

Debbie's been in Julie Chen's glitter pot.
That wasn't bad...Debbie seemed hesitant on several moves.

I agree with John Nicks, Kurt is just not a pairs skater. It puts this team at a big disadvantage. Deborah's lunge was not very low, but she was being cautious since it was causing her pain in practice. This isn't worth getting injured over.

The pros that were/are pairs skaters do have a big advantage. I would like the skater that fell to be eliminated tonight before she suffers the (inevitable) major injury.
