THOSE wacky "Simple Life" gals were up to their old tricks last week in South Jersey still taping the show even as it's set to debut in just a week.

Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie were in Atlantic City, where they were scheduled to visit a firehouse on Maryland and Atlantic Avenues.

According to a report in the Courier-Post newspaper, Hilton and Richie were scheduled to make an 11 a.m. appearance but it was never confirmed if, in fact, they ever made that visit.

They were also supposedly visiting the Anthony Canale Center in nearby Egg Harbor Township, to learn the "ropes of firefighting," but show officials would not comment on that visit, according to the Courier-Post report.

However, it was confirmed that Hilton and Richie shopped at Hamilton Mall in Mays Landing for almost 45 minutes last Thursday night and "bought jewelry from carts" at Macy's according to the mall's general manager.

The manager Fadz, a clothing store in the mall, also said the gals dropped by and bought a pair of arm warmers.

"The Simple Life 3" premieres next Wednesday night on Fox. Post TV Staff
