His hair styling is progressive, and he loves traveling to new places, constantly aiming to discover new ways to elevate hair design. He sees it as just that — hair design –- not just hair styling. When “Shear Genius” open calls came to his attention, Tyson had recently sold his salon in Salt Lake City after seven and a half years. He traveled to Los Angeles, and the next day, he had two emails forwarded to him about the casting call. It took him a week to decide why he'd ultimately go for it — he felt that he could “show an elevated perspective on hair design that could inspire both the public and fellow hair designers.” Tyson says he loves to help bring out the beauty that is already in someone. He says he's a kid at heart and a passionate designer. .  |

| Re: Tyson Wow! Quite the decision to close shop after 7 years to do this show.  No wonder he's so adamant about creating his charactor on the show.Wasn't really sure why he'd want to grab all of the feathers right out from under whatshername's hands...but I can only guess he was sabotaging on purpose, and WANTED her to know about it. I don't even remember if he DID use any feathers, which makes me laugh. It makes it all that much more bitchier if he didn't use them!  I like this guy.  He's gonna be the tough one to beat I'm thinking....he's hungryyy people! He sold his business to succeed on this show, you just KNOW he's going to be reality show gold. Yay!

| Re: Tyson i think he's hot. i LOVED it when he first approached the girls a la The Bachelor. lol! i totally have a crush on him. he is HOT as hell. everytime he's on the screen im like omg.
