    Patrice Pike - Supernova

    Hometown: Austin, TX
    Age: 35

Patrice Pike: Austin, Texas is known for its laid back, bohemian yet ultra committed music scene--something Austin native Patrice Pike immediately conveys. She's been a professional musician since she was sixteen, but has maintained such a raw, down-to-earth quality and irrepressible talent that Billboard magazine proclaimed her "one of the finest up and coming contemporary rock singers in America". High praise--and richly deserved.

An award winning singer songwriter rocker with a punk edge, she's co-created numerous records and musical groups (including Sister Seven and Patrice Pike and the Blackbox Rebellion), toured all over the United States and Western Europe and just plain impressed those who've seen, heard and watched the talented woman. And if deep musical aptitude wasn't enough, Patrice is a dedicated humanitarian who, in addition to other progressive endeavors, works with at-risk youth in Austin and abroad. In both music and life, Patrice Pike truly is the real deal.

I love her name. I don't know what is so funny about it (espeically when compared to "Storm Large") but I do.

I don't see her age here, but she looks to be... not young. No biggie though.

    With sangin'. She's good.

Also: This site seems to have a pretty massive Profile on her. Wahtever the heck a "Camp Betty" is... - http://www.campbettycampout.com/2005...atricepike.htm

Aw c'mon. Can we have some love for Patrice? I mean the "great female singer" category was VERY crowded tonight, with Dilana, Storm, Jill and Patrice all being great, but considering that only one or two guys did squat, that still puts Patrice easily in the top half.

She was good. Her voice, especially with the song she sang last night was slightly reminiscent of Grace Slick.

She should do well barring a truly awful (Chris-like) performance

She nailed the song. Strong voice. Her stage appearance needs to improve.

I watched her performance again. I was wrong. She was pretty good on stage. I guess I like a bit more movement and energy, but the song didn't call for it and I'm sure she was more concerned with signing than getting up there and acting like a nut, running in place.....

I have seen her live with her own music and she is awesome!! I could see her actually fronting this band, or Dilana, or even Storm. I hope she and the other women go far.
I think Patrice has the experience and maturity to hang with these guys. Some of the other "girls" are too "girly"... Dana, and the gal who did "How you Remind Me" maybe.
