I know what you mean AJane. I actually liked her the first couple times I saw her...but it's the way she over pronounces the words and elongates them...I think...that bothers me somewhat.

That's not the official term (ahem), but that's the only thing I can think of to describe it. I think overall, she's a great performer--nice voice, plays guitar well, good songwriter, pretty, etc. But the elongations is part of her singing style and isn't something I can listen to nonstop during a 90-minute concert.

I'm not a big fav of Patrice. Last night she didn't even seem excited to me that she was performing. I expected more energy from her and I didn't think the guys were into her that much. I wouldn't mind if she's in the bottom.

Personally, I don't think she wants this gig. Like Jordis last year, she ran out of steam and is just going through the motions waiting for it to end.

It's a shame, really. Her original stuff is awesome. She's an award-winning songwriter fer Chrissakes! You'd think she would fight for the right to do one of her songs. I don't think she's comfortable up there. I think she wants to go home. Perhaps SN will grant her that wish.

As Gilby said, (paraphrasing) there's a great performer inside of her. Last night was a very disappointing sidestep.

Standing there on stage with the smiley, confident, I'm-the-s**t stage presence doesn't immediately make you "the s**t".

I think Patrice knows it's the end of the road and she's ready to leave. I don't get the sense that she wants to be there anymore ... I think she's ready to come home to Austin ...

yeah, no matter how good she think she is, she has to see the writing on the wall, and with her next closest competitor, Ryan, having had two encores already she has to be seeing next week as a time to give it all she has. I think we saw that already when she switched to the Hole song, which certainly sets herself up to outlast Ryan if 1) she can continue to nail harder rocking songs Tue. and Wed. and 2) Ryan tries to play hard rock singer again and falls back into his old ways of mediocrity.

As much as I can't stand Ryan, there is no way I see Patrice lasting longer than he does, even if she does "crush it" next week. You can tell the Supertwits want her gone, and they have given Ryan two encores so it's hightly unlikely she'll stay. She will be the next to go, I'm sure.

I totally agree with you all. I think Patrice's time is very limited.

I happened to look on Patrice's myspace http://www.myspace.com/patricepike and she released a CD "Unraveling" October 17th. You can buy it at places like Barnes and Noble. Included on the CD is the song she performed on RS "Beautiful Thing".

I listened to some of her songs on her myspace page and I really liked them. Since I was such a huge Dilana fan, she got overshadowed by Dilana during RS but she seems to be doing alot of gigs so that's good for her. :up
