| Elizabeth G - Clementines are tangerines with no seeds, so the skins come off easily and there are no seeds to deal with and they are really yummy. You can get them in little crates here - a couple dozen to a crate, and the crates make excellent woodstove kindling. They season out mid winter. Good source of vitamin C. Fiddlehead ferns are only available for a one-week window near the end of May/early June. They are dark green and the closest I can describe the taste is asparagus, but that's not really it. They are the first shoots of ferns tightly curled like a fiddle head. I sautee them in butter with a little garlic. Also very chock full of vitamins. I left out rhubarb. I have a patch of heritage (really old, authentic) rhubarb that hardly needs sugar when you cook it. It is so flavorful and sweet and - you guessed it - really good for you. It was here when I bought the house (old farmhouse) and the neighbor swears it has been here for centuries.
