When you folks went to the restaurant, did you have reservations and how far in advance were they?

i actually worked at Rocco´s for several months. i just wanted to clarify that it was actually a pretty great environment to work in until JC came in and distroyed what team comradery and family feel we had.

As for the food...everyday at 5pm we have whats called family meal where all the staff sits down to eat with each other. the food IS NOT supposed to be gourmet haute cusine, but it is very good. every so often i still get a hankering for a few meatballs and some linguini puttanesca.

Were you on the show, kissyface?

THanks for the insight. Several employees of Rocco's have posted here in the past, and most of them have had good things to say about the experience, although bad things to say about the filming.

    Hey Moixa,

I am wondering if we ate the same Rocco's on 22nd. When I went there everyone was very nice and friendly. As a matter of fact my friend and I had missed our 8pm reservation. However the woman who took the reservations told me to still come. We did and the hostess had us to wait for only 15 minutes for a table which was great for a Saturday night. Anyway I definitely recommend the place to anyone interested.

    Not too good

Ate at Roccos two weeks ago. I took my wife to the Alejandro Sanz concert at MSG (she is from Argentina) and I made the reservation for 11 pm. I did it online. I called to confirm that morning as instructed in my confirming email. We got out of the concert around 10:35...hopped into a cab and we were at Roccos by 10:50. I checked in and I was told they were running about 15 minutes behind. We went to the bar. Had a Bud and my wife had a Melon Ball...$17.00...welcome to New York. I had my picture taken with the big maitre'd and the young bartender from the show waited on us. Tons of unescorted and pretty hot women there in groups of 2's and 3's...hoping to see Rocco. They said he had been in earlier. Did not get seated until about 11:45...the manager with the pig tail..young thin guy walked by and asked if there was a problem...I looked pissed and I explained we were waiting almost an hour. We were seated immediately. The service was super fast after that. I think they wanted to close the kitchen. Ordered Mamas meatballs...3 for 8 bucks. Small and a bit raw in the middle. But tasty. And we both had spaghetti carbonara...I think $17 each. It was pasty and really quite tasteless. But hot and delivered quickly. The bread was a bit burnt on the outside. I had a beer with the meal. My wife drinks water with everything. We passed on desert and left with only a check for 50 bucks plus tip (not counting the earlier drinks). Not bad...it was fun to go there...but never again. Too many good places in NYC :phhht ...hello Carmines.

    Hey Everyone,

I went to Rocco's last night. My friends and I had reservations for 9:45pm. It was fantastic experience the second time around. The food was good. The service was great. I definitely recommend it to all of you. One of the highlights of the evening was when Mama came over to our table. She is a very friendly woman. She gladly stopped to take pictures with my friends and I. The same goes for Shane the floor manager. He stopped to take pictures as well .

No freakin way!!!! I am so grossed out.

If someone gave me 1st class airfare and free dinner at Rocco's I would not go. I was distigusted with the food handling on this show, let alone to think of what else goes on when the cameras are not rolling!

In Saturday's episode, one guy licking his fingers and touching all of the food - must have learned this technique from Rocco (we already know that Rocco has his nasty saliva in everything) and then the guy is rubbing his head and face constantly - then handling people's food. That's not grated parmesan on the spaghetti... it's his dandruff!!!

Makes me never want to go to any restaurant. Don't they teach food handling courses to any of these people??? I am so grossed out.
