Oh Boy! It looks like we're getting TWO new Real Housewives franchises: Potomac (a Washington DC suburb) and Dallas, Texas:
‘The Real Housewives’ Franchise Heads To Maryland And Texas
Bravo Media is expanding The Real Housewives franchise, trying again in the Washington, DC. area, and also adding Dallas, TX to its locales.
The Real Housewives of Potomac premieres Sunday, January 17 at 9 PM. The Washington, D.C. suburb’s rolling hills, gated mansions, sophisticated prep schools and exclusive country clubs tend to keep the area invitation-only. Sprinkled throughout the community are a handful of old-line, wealthy African-American families who have historically broken racial barriers to provide the best life possible for their children. The Real Housewives Of Potomac follows the upscale lives of Gizelle Bryant, Katie Rost, Karen Huger, Charrisse Jackson-Jordan, Robyn Dixon, and Ashley Darby. The Real Housewives Of D.C. originally premiered on Bravo on August 5, 2010, and aired through October 21, 2010, before it was canceled. Michaele Salahi, who had a role in the show, had gained national attention the year before for allegedly crashing a White House state dinner.
The Real Housewives Of Dallas follows a group of sophisticated southern socialites, as they claw their way to the top of the city’s social scene. It’s slated to premiere later next year.
