I hate to admit it, but I don't even know what "holding anal beads" means - it makes me to even type it

I'm embarrassed to admit I DO know.
The funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realise it doesn't say anything it's too late to stop reading it.

I can't explain it, but when I watch Bethenny with Bryn, I just feel good - maybe I'm reliving that wonderful feeling with my own little ones. But I can say for sure, I'd rather watch Bethenny joyfully run through sprinklers with Bryn and laugh than watch Bethenny slugging it out verbally with Jill and LuAnn. This show "de-stresses" me, I like that.

Usually I agree with you but as much as I like Bethanny and applaud her acheivments, I get stressed out watching her take on sooooo much in her life. Now, it's entirely possible that she thrives on being super-mega-busy and I'm just so far removed from that. I have no idea how she does it: all those employees in her home, a baby to care for, meals to prepare, etc. I'd be bonkers in no time!

She's worked like the Tasmanian Devil to achieve what she has. I guess it might take a long time to realize that she doesn't have to do that anymore. Hope she reaches that point.

I guess I'm focusing on the good parts of her life. There is SO much negativity, drama, and stress in these reality shows that seeing light and happy moments uplift me. There really should be more of that. I've begun to feel that my constant diet of negative reality tv has impacted my own attitude, which is why I'm backing away from parts of it. It's not my reality (thank God ) but too much of it (like food and drink) isn't always a good thing.

I totally understand and agree with you about too much negative stuff on reality tv....it bothers me also and sometimes we need to take a break from it. A few years ago, I got really interested in politics and then I had to remove myself from that also...I just don't need all that anger and negativity in my life and that's all I was feeling when getting into it.
We all need to know when to step back and just enjoy the good things in our lives. I think stress is the main killer to our bodies. I'll miss your posts but you need to do what's best for you.

    Re: Bethenny Ever After

I have been a longtime fan of Bethenny, but I'm afraid I can't continue to watch her family fall apart. Things seem to be very bad on the new show and in the video that is linked below, she says she crys all the time. This can't be good. Either the fighting is staged or it's real. Either way, that is not amusing to me. She doesn't need the money anymore. Why put your family at risk? I hope things aren't as bad as they appear.

    Re: Bethenny Ever After

Jason & Bethenny are just 2 very different people with totally different backgrounds. They are polar opposites.
Bethenny grew up in a dysfunctional family. Her mother was whack-a-doodle & her father was non-existant for pretty much her entire life. She longed for her father's attention & strived to be the best to make him take notice of her. I guess in her mind success would equal acceptance from her father. She said she lived with friends during part of her teen years.

Jason grew up in a very close family where he & his brother were cherished, loved & adored by both parents. Jason can't relate to what Bethenny feels & Bethenny can not understand why Jason is so close to his parents because her experience with parents is that they let you down so why invest your emotions & love in them. There is no way on earth Jason would not want to include his parents in his & Bryn's life. Bethenny would be fine with seeing them once a year.

When she lets her guard down & enjoys special time with Bryn like with the sprinkler I think she gets it but then she always has to be in 100% control of everything. Jason will never alow her 100% control.

Then again don't believe everything you read online.

I agree, that's what I was saying earlier. Bethenny won't be able to turn it or tone it down overnight, it will take take because that's just what she's been used to her whole adult life. I suspect she likes that Jason won't let her run over him, and I'd be willing to propose that was a huge draw to him and that it could have a lot to do with the fact that her father abandoned her. Maybe she's looking for a strong man to keep her in check.

I can say that because I was like that, too, before I got married to my "Jason." I was (still am to some degree) quite driven, more than most women, Type A, always on, and I could chew up a man and spit him out if I wanted to. Men who would coddle me or let me run over them, I couldn't respect and I'd lose interest in a New York minute. The man I married, however, was the first man who truly loved me, understood me, treated me like a princess, but wouldn't take my "crap" when I'd try to dish it out. While I didn't realize it at the time, I came to realize that I needed that and had been searching for that for years. I finally kissed a frog who turned out to be my prince (married 20+ years).

Just saying that, given Bethenny's strong personality along with her extreme vulnerability, I wouldn't be at all surprised if she needs that aspect of Jason more than she realizes. But whatever her fears are, I hope she can overcome them with her family intact.
