Having just become a grandma, I feel bad for Jason's parents. There's nothing better than seeing that grandchild often and thankfully, I get to do that. I'm sure they'd love to see Brynn more often.

    Re: Bethenny Ever After

Both Jason and Bethenny seem to value Family - B. talks about how she wants her child to have family love she didn't experience.... and Jason b/c he's wired that way. I suspect the grandparents visiting & non-visiting issues are nothing more than an attempt to keep drama going. Bethenny's a smart person and she knows the value of good relationships, so I doubt she'd diss the in-laws for real. I just wonder how the Hopppy parents are coping with the public/tv image of this trumped up problem.

I don't get the impression that it's about Bethenny wanting to keep Brynn from seeing her grandparents. I think it's more about the fact that Jason's parents don't exactly live 15 minutes away and they think she is going to drop everything on a regular basis and take the baby to Jason's parents house. I know some of you live up that way. Am I correct when I assume that she basically would have to carve a whole day out of her schedule to take the baby there?

    Re: Bethenny Ever After

I think the shortest route there is about 130 miles/2.5 hours. Not really a day trip you'd want to make frequently with a baby on board. I think it's more of an overnighter for them, or a weekend trip.

I agree that the drama seems fabricated. The Hoppys seem to adore her, and I would think they'd travel to NYC to see their granddaughter pretty frequently and that they would be most welcome visitors.

eh...well..its probably just me. I'm getting a touch older & sometimes she annoys me. I think she basically knows what's important in her life. You gotta have some drama somewhere, or no none would watch. As for faith, that's a matter of opinion. Remember the old expression...never discuss religion or politics.

I never thought of the fact that the visiting of the grandparents situation could be for drama purposes. I hope that's true. Would be good for all of them, even Bethanny who would have a parental unit that would love her the way she'd like to be.

The problem could be solved so easily!!!! Yes, Bethenny (and Jason) are super-super busy, and the trip to visit the Hoppys probably does easily take up a whole day or more --- so seeing as the Hoppys are not very busy, they could easily plan a regular, say for example, every-other-weekend trip to NY, stay at a nearby hotel, and come over and visit Brynn, as often as it works out for all of them. Bethenny and Jason can certainly afford to pay for Jason's parents hotel, and not only can the Hoppys enjoy the extra time with Brynn, but Bethenny and Jason can enjoy the fact that that the Hoppys are there to give Brynn all that wonderful Grandma and Grandpa love that is so wonderful for children to have. Meanwhile, Bethenny can go about her business, or whatever it is that she has/wants to do, and be at home with the extended family whenever she wishes --- and Jason can spend whatever time with his parents that he wishes. Problem solved!

And that's prolly what they actually do, Imperfect... the solution many people come up with. The g'parents get privacy at a hotel, go out during the evening for theater or fun in the city, give parents down time by going to the baby & visiting during the day & maybe a little time off for the parents. Everybody's happy! The tv stuff we see has gotta be drama for the cameras.
