Re: The Real Housewives of Miami

There is a bit of a marathon of Miami HWs from first season on this morning. Nothing going on on BB, so I'm watching to see if I even remember any of these gals. Funny, but the only one I really remember is Mama Elsa, for obvious reasons.

I'm flipping between this and Big Brother.

Wow! These women are all looking alike. The plastic surgeon's wife looks like Marysol who looks like Mama Elsa, but in a softer way, who looks like Lea - she's had some good surgery this season - who looks like Joanna, ad infinitum.
The celebrity dentist lady looks like she put too much novocaine on her face. It's frozen in time.
I'm sorry to be so catty tonight, but these women are the most self centered, egotistical bunch of any of these shows, it seems.

oh, norealityhere, I didn't find you to be catty just factual. They ALL look manufactured....nothing seems real/normal, including their faces.
Lea definitely got some great one since last season...looks 10 yrs younger and very good. All the women are beautiful but a little odd w/all the "work" done on them.
I still get them mixed up, and can only define them by blonde or brunettes so far.
Wonder what Elsa meant by "the doctor that ruined her face?" I'd love more info on that because it's obvious something went wrong.

I love Lea Black. She never becomes too friendly with the dumb, unaccomplished spoiled girls. Last season it was Christy - who snubbed her at the charity event. This time it's that plastic surgeon's wife (who looks like a plastic barbie doll). She doesn't give them the time of day. Awesome.

Well, Christy and Larsa are gone. Alexis isn't oficially a HW, but I think it is because she has had a serious health problem with her younger son. Lea blew me away with her new face, great job! I still find her rude and LOUD. Can't remember the name of the Brazilian art dealer, but don't much like her anyway. It'll take a while to see how the new gals fit in. Can you imagine how many people who have lost their homes and jobs in the last few years could get back on their feet if the combined wealth of these overindulged women could be redistributed? Just sayin'.

Oh, and like Dragonlady I am very interested in the story behind Mama Elsa's disasterous plastic surgery. Why can't it get fixed?

Still loving Lea Black; she reminds me a little of Lynda (name? husband's name is Ebong) from RHDC. They're both astute businesspeople; I like seeing that. And her face looks amazingly good, someone did nice work. The vampire tooth one, dark long hair, talks with a bit of a lisp, still my least favorite, and- poor thing, her boyfriend/husband - what a slime, he's on track to kick her right in the teeth & she doesn't see it coming.

Cannot yet tell the others apart. Did Lea get divorced or something, there was a reference to that...?

Lea Black was on WWHL last night with Joanna.
Andy told Lea that there were numerous tweets asking if Lea had work? She said NO.
I think I'd love to go to the surgeon she had! She looks marvelous!

Joanna was really drunk and when Andy asked if she's had injections in her lips recently, she said it was lipstick!

Methinks all these ladies are in deep denial!

    Thanks, my friend!

As far as Elsa and the Dr. who ruined her face.... She referenced it last season, too. Obviously, it looks like surgery gone seriously wrong. It kind of looks like Bruce Jenner's face after surgery, actually. I think Elsa has probably gone to see other DR's about correcting it and they probably told her they cannot. A shame...

The woman married to the plastic surgeon actually reminds me of Jenna Jameson.
Jenna was a very pretty woman before she went plastic surgery crazy. THis woman may have been very pretty too, but went nutso with plastic surgery.

Re: The Real Housewives of Miami

I was lukewarm on last season, but gave the second season a shot tonight via recording.

I actually LOL'd at Elsa saying her dog took a xanax and hid in the closet because he was gay. I do feel bad for the dog (dogs shouldn't randomly take xanax) and Elsa's housekeeper. I hope that lady is paid really well to sing to Elsa. As messed up as her face is, I still want to pair her up with George, Aviva's father from NYC, for Old People of Miami. Maybe it can air on the Hallmark Channel after re-runs of the Golden Girls.

The rest of the show felt kind of like real estate porn. My good gods, those houses were INSANE. They made Heather's (of the OC) look normal.

I'm okay with the ladies from the past season (though I have zero recollection what the beef was between Lea and Marysol). I don't understand why the dentist woman called the lawyer woman "old". They look about the same age; the only difference is the dentist lady is clearly dehydrated or has an adipose tissue disorder and the lawyer lady is of normal function. The lawyers-as-almost-exes could be interesting. The model gal looks a hell of a lot like Carmody (sp?) the make-up lady on What Not To Wear, but about 100% more bitchy. The one that annoys me the most is Mrs. Dr. Boobies. Okay, enhance your chest, but why make your face look like an Olympic ski slope? Weird nose, weird cheeks, weird lips. Though, the duck lips are an across-the-board oddity on HWs. I'm getting older and my lips are thinning out and I may eventually want to do something about it. But I've know plenty of people who have had slight fillers done to plump them back up, but that's when they're like 50-60 and in slight, slight bits, so it looks normal...not like they've morphed into water fowl or worse.
