Re: The Real Housewives of New York
Getting back to Aviva's disgusting perv of a father for a moment, I had a huge AHA moment when he refused to undress and get into the hot tub with everyone else. He KNOWS he's an OLD man with an OLD MAN'S BODY --- and if he had stripped down to his bathing trunks, everyone else would have known it too. For the first time, I actually felt sorry for him, cause with all of his crude sexual talk, he knows the truth. At some point, you can't really fool Mother Nature any more. And all of the fake tanning, and teeth whitening, and fake veneers, and Viagra, and over-the-top sexual talk, aren't going to change that.
PS I DO give him props for living life to the fullest in his old age though. It's great for him to be sexually active into his later years. It's just too bad that he can't be more socially acceptable about it.
Re: The Real Housewives of New York
As usual, Imperfect1, I agree with you.:)
and I did feel sorry for Aviva's dad....it's sad that he seems to believe that he's fooling anyone....I'm not crazy about aging either but I hope I'm more realistic than he is.
I have no problem with trying to look as good as you can...no matter what your age...so teeth whitening is good...personally, I think yellowed, old teeth can make you look older than wrinkles....but often those veneers make people look really strange and the same goes for too much tanning, which makes the veneers stand out even more.
Seems like people think "if a little looks good, then a lot will look better." I feel the same about these women with their puffed up lips.
Who the heck decided that only big lips look good??
Re: The Real Housewives of New York
They looked like ill-fitting dentures to me.
Re: The Real Housewives of New York
Aviva and husband seemed so normal, somewhat refined, well mannered, socially correct.... then along comes the skeevy dad. What can be in Aviva's mind that makes her think his coarse lowlife manner is attractive or even mildly humorous. She shrugs it off as if Oh, well, that's just my dad, isn't he cute? If she's serious, I'm re-thinking my opinion of her.
The man is disgusting, poking his Viagra inflated member into Sonja's backside. Does one really have to take a pill that far ahead of when they think it might be useful? And... talk about it?? WTF?

I saw that, too, and almost brought the link over before remembering that doing so would be punishable by firing squad.
I wonder if they're really having problems or just want to be on another reality show?

I totally agree and noticed that too. By him not getting into that hot tub told us a lot!!!

LOLOL... Exactly!
Re: The Real Housewives of New York
Well, money apparently not only cannot buy you class, it cannot buy a classy band. Luanne's band was worse than Sonja's singer, and I hardly thought that was possible. Maybe Bravo's punking the old-timers to get them off the show?
I don't get the shirtless dude pic for the toaster oven box any more than Sonja or Ramona. While I don't normally align myself with those two, I see their point. If Sonja's take on the toaster oven market (and, dear gods, she's got to get a 30 Rock cross over with Jack Donaghy if NBC Universal knows how to use their assets--they could share a drink over the loss of the microwave division and the toaster over mess) is to have a larger toaster oven that does everything, so when you're living in Grey Gardens, you only need one plug to cook a fabulous meal, the beefcake is not necessary. (Yes, I realize that's a tortured mess of a sentence--it's late and I've been working far too long.)
Re: The Real Housewives of New York
I haven't seen the entire episode yet but did see the "Toaster Oven" meeting # 2.
And I feel the same way I did about meeting #1. I really dislike Mr. Know It All Branding. He is so condescending and so is Gretchen. It appears that Gretchen is being a good friend helping out another friend but they talk in a language that's way over Sonja's head (and mine), dismiss all her ideas and act like she should be kissing their feet for even being in their presence.
I was glad she had Ramona there....not that Ramona behaved herself. What is it with people taking phone calls while at Sonja's house?? And doesn't anyone know about the little button on the phone that silences the ring tone??
Poor Sonja is way over her head in all this and their attitude is awful...yes, I know it's all free and that's great for Sonja but geeze.............
And what the heck does a shirtless, headless male have to do with a toaster oven??
Say no, Sonja!!
