I an interested in the toaster oven too. It's been super hot in the south this summer, (over 100 degrees!) It's too hot to heat up the kitchen with regular oven. So, our little toaster has served us well. I'll check it out Sonja. After all, A little Sonja will spice up any party, right? lol Just imagine the party food we can prepare with it!

I am almost finished with reading Carol's book "What Remains."
I bought the book because her husband and his two friends, (consequently then Carol's friends) JFK, Jr and wife, Carolyn and that era interested me.
I must say that Carol really went thru an extremely trying time with her husband's illness. Then to have him and these two good good friends die so close together must have been horrific. I would think many people would have had a hard time to recover from this.
I think I now admire this woman tremendously...her work ethics, her talent, her compassion and ability to love completely....not to mention that I really like her writing style.
It's not a fun book, being terribly sad but I think it tells me a lot of who this woman is....quite different from the La Di Da Countess who couldn't compare in any way to the strength and integrity of this little tiny Carol.
It wasn't until today when I happened to toss the book onto the table while tidying up that I really took notice of the picture on the cover of the book. Totally broke my heart.

Carol's reverence for the present surely is beautiful. I being supportive where she can.

Ramona and Aviva next week--I hope Ramona can apologize and communicate in a bonding way for the future. I am not sure why she is mentioning Aviva's leg. Maybe she is trying to say that Aviva is a fashion plate. People really do not really like to be described in unclear ways (ways that can be construed negatively). Aviva is absolutely gorgeous. And she has been very very kind and considerate of Ramona's feelings.

Dissers of the people that are down-----absolutely ugly.

I'd like to read Carolls book, but I can't take anything that serious this summer. I already have too many other things of a serious nature that I can't take it on right now. Maybe later. It sounds very inspiring.

Oh my gosh, just finished watching Aviva's father with Sonja and the rest of the group. He is so disgusting. From my opinion of Aviva, her father just doesn't fit who I thought she was. I mean it's not her fault having a father like him, but having 'daddy' on national t.v. or even wanting to set him up with anyone you call a friend, is so not what I thought Aviva was all about. He's disgusting. I bet he is all talk. ICK And Ramona bringing up Aviva's leg all the time, she has to be the rudest but oblivious person ever. I just can't stand Ramona. I truly think she is 'off'. I think it's very obvious that Carol joined the show to plug her book and the fact it may turn into a television show. Just not getting a good vibe about her. Phoney. Just like Heather, there to promote her business and to act very condescending.

George is soooo Stan from "The Golden Girls" but with the perv factor amped up by 1000% percent. I actually felt bad for Sonja...and I never feel bad for Sonja. Perhaps he needs to migrate over to the next season of RHoM and have Elsa slap him down a few notches. But over-all the Miami trip was kind of a snooze. Ramona can over-react anywhere; she doesn't need beaches or pools to do so. OTOH, if Ramona's comments on Aviva's leg bothered Aviva so much, she should have just said something. I'm sure this all culminates somehow in the "white trash" comment.

I didn't appreciate the weird shopping interlude with Carole and Luann but I did appreciate not seeing Heather at all and bristled at her appearance in the previews.

I'd like to read Carolls book, but I can't take anything that serious this summer. I already have too many other things of a serious nature that I can't take it on right now. Maybe later. It sounds very inspiring.

I know I'm going to sound preachy and Wise Old Woman-y here but...
I found that even though I've been having a chaotic, stress-y time this summer for various little continuous problems, this book put everything into perspective for me.
I knew going into it that it was NOT a beach book, there would be sadness but thought it wasn't going to be that poignant.
It made me realize that all my dumb little problems were nothing...
Sometimes when I would feel kind of low in spirit, I used to think I was the Winner of Surviving Hard Times, having lost my father one year, my mother the next and my adult son the next, not counting various uncles and aunts and other normal stress-makers.
I was wrong.
Carol lost her husband and two best friends in 3 weeks. And survives. With incredible dignity.
The devotion she had to her husband during all the endless medical ordeals was incredible.
Knowing all this about her, I realize how very shallow all those other Housewives really are....particularly the OC girls.

If he thinks the sight of his body is offensive for normal purposes he should know it not desirable for sexual purposes.


He was very disrespectful to Sonja. And why would Aviva waste Sonja's time like that. I guess she is unaware of Sonja's financial situation.

I think Sonja should just plan on working a pr job and just reorganize her life. Those monies old feeders will not take care of a heart.

Just to add, her book has sadness, but it's not sad. I think that's her writer's gift.
