Re: The Real Housewives of Orange County

As for the mink (?) coat: Brooks carried it in to Vicki's house in a garment bag....if he had purchased it from a real furrier, the name of the store/furrier would have been blazoned across that bag for all (mostly the viewers if it was a plug) to see. I saw nothing and he quickly, oh, so quickly, unzipped that bag and got the coat out and around Vicki in a split second. It would also have a discreet but very apparent label inside the coat. All good furs have those two things.

This was a juicy episode, even though I agree that much was scripted. That was fine with me since I got a lot of action. Sarah's sugar problem was a joke and either her or TPTB's idea of revenge to support her dear friend Alexis. I thought it was funny how they spoke about Heather's Botox-ed face while neither of their faces showed any lines or movement. Pot/Kettle, etc.

Loved and laughed as classy ol' Vicki introduced herself to the waiter at the door....surprised she didn't inform the waiter about her new fur coat!
Gretchen is a beautiful woman but she looked like she (or rather Slade)bought her dress and odd furry coat from Frederick's of Hollywood. Usually, she dresses better than that.
Heather is an actress and her best work is her present role of a classy wealthy woman. She's just a regular person who married well.
Brooks is a total bozo....am so tired of his "I'm a hugger" line. He probably just like cuddling up close to pretty women and thinks his line makes it ok. I'd love it if just once some woman would hold him off and say, "well, I'm not," as I would. I don't care to be in a full body clutch with some guy I don't know. (Although at my advanced age now, I don't have to worry about that anymore. )

Or would you buy someone a diamond ring and just throw away the color/clarity/cut certification card?
I have never seen any of these people present paperwork when they buy something. I do think Brooks is a grifter, don't get me wrong, but I didn't see anyone talking about Eddie not presenting the insurance papers for the ring along with the ring he gave Tamra.

I think it's real, but I also think the money to purchase it came out of her bank account. She probably already had whatever papers were involved and the presentation of Brooks' gift was jut for the cameras

Correct me if I'm wrong.... but I'm pretty sure when Brooks was presenting the coat to Vicki he said he got her the coat "FOR THE NIGHT". She was so focused on the coat itself, I don't think she even heard him say that, especially since she kept telling everyone that he "bought" it for her. I think he just "bought" it for the night, which would explain why he took the hanger and the bag in the limo with them. I wonder if this means that he takes the coat back on the next episode so he can return it to the rental place?

What was with all the fur anyway... It's California for God sake! It doesn't get cold enough to wear a fur.

They should put Sarah on RHONY. Can you imagine she and Pinot Singer together.

I had to go watch that part again, because I remember her making a comment. After he said, "I got it for you for tonite." She says, "Just for tonight? I can't keep it forever?" Then he said, "It's yours." And she appropiately swooned. DH and I laughed and laughed over that one. She actually expects so little from Brooks that it immediately occured to her that maybe he just rented it for the night. And it's not the weather that keeps us in California out of furs. I's PETA!!! I guess 'politically correct' doesn't fly in the OC. LOL

I never watched any of the housewives shows, nor most of the absolute cr*p I watch now, until I retired 3 years ago and had an abundance of time to fry my brains. I now have Netflix $8.00 a month streaming and have thousands of really interesting documentaries to choose from. So I'm balancing out the garbage with stimulating learning opportunities.

That said, I am sooooooooo ready for the fine, quality programming of........ Big Brother!!!

Holy cow! I missed the part of Brooks, saying "for the night." That makes a huge difference.
But slime is slime. Perhaps he thinks (and I'm sure he does) that if he wraps up his words in that Southern accent, it'll all sound so pretty. Vicki sure does think so.
I think she's so surprised and grateful that she got anyone!!

OMG I did not listen close enough to Brooks but in the words of Heather "shut the front door"!

I live in the OC I have been here 4 years coming from the East I have not worn a winter coat in 4 years. Fleece, yes in late Dec early Jan.

At Heather's party, every one else had on sleeve less dresses WITHOUT any coats.

Icky must have SWEAT in her ONE EVENING coat.

And as far as Heather, Sarah, the bow and the cake SCRIPTED.

My views regarding Heather and her cake. One doesn't show a guest the door because they break something, or "defile" your cake. Breaking off a piece of decoration is wrong of Sarah. Regardless, being drunk or suffering from low blood sugar is a something I personally would leave up to a medical professional to decide. Extreme low blood sugar can be a very serious condition. And the symptoms can be mistaken for drunkeness. (poor coordination, anxiety, hunger, dizziness on and on) So once Sarah said she had a low sugar issue-a gracious hostess simply has to take her at her word. The viewer doesn't know for a fact how much liquor Sarah had during the evening.

Heather by offering her a oreo showed some awareness of all this. But she should have stopped there. Her over-reaction to a bow on her cake and all the HW's grouped around Sarah berating her were just some HW foolish drama.

And face it, Sarah's sugar lie was bigger than that cake! Puh-leeze! If it were me, she would've found herself on the other side of my front door looking stupid!
And she would have been escorted by her date for that night, ditzy Alexis! How dare that blonde bimbo bring an uninvited guest! And Bimbo would have gotten a stern "talking-to" the NEXT day!

"Sugar lie" is right! She was just being a drunk a$$hole.

Re: The Real Housewives of Orange County

I have no sympathy for Sarah's supposedly low blood sugar issue.
I once had hypoglycemia for awhile (due to excessive stress). I learned to carry certain items with me at all times to help when it would drop.
Maybe if she ate more, rather than the Super-Skinny-California Girl diet so many are on here in So Cal, she wouldn't have this problem. It's just no excuse for doing what she did to the cake.
Anywhere, anytime, you can ask someone for food to help you get past it (if you are caught unaware)...besides, they were passing food around everywhere. If you have a health issue, deal with it without messing up other people's agenda. And eating sugary things is the worst thing you can do...you get an instant spike and then a huge drop in blood sugar.

I am also lactose intolerant.....so I ask if there's dairy in certain foods that I can't tell and I carry lactose intolerant supplements at all times. It's MY problem...not the host/hostess' problem.
Take responsibility for your conditions and don't expect others to overlook bad behavior because you have issues.

My advice to her: eat more, drink less and stop being so mean.....like she was to Vicki earlier in the season at the bowling ally....and I'm no fan of Vicki. Like someone else mentioned, she's just like that friend of Camille's who attacked other women at the RHBH party of Brandi's.
