Yep, there's the growing up thing. Then there's the mental capacity thing. Many of the RHNJ, along with their families, are very well suited to one another. Set them loose outside their small world and they'd be chewed to bits and spit out in a heartbeat.

Ran across this from the New York Post, interesting about short Joe:

"Real Housewife of New Jersey" Melissa Gorga, who's been handpicked for TV to antagonize her bankrupt sister-in-law Teresa Giudice, brings her own financial woes to the Bravo reality show. Melissa and her developer husband, Joe, who appear in the new season starting Monday, have tax liens against two of their properties, according to public records. They bought their 13,000-square-foot mansion in Montville, NJ, in 2009 and have put it up for sale several times, Joe told us. They're also trying to raise cash with an Internet reality-show site called "Prove World." Celebrities pay Joe to interact with fans, and fans pay to interact with them in online video chats. When we asked the beefy developer about his financial situation, he told us in a text, "Everything just got paid 30 minutes ago, no big deal . . . Thank you for the reminder, you saved me some interest. Keep me informed if I'm behind on something else thanks again."

Well, that's actually kind of a clever reply... you've gotta admit....

I'm not surprised they're in financial trouble. Melissa was enjoying taunting Theresa about hers just a little too much.

Kim G is a piece of work, isn't she? My God, that woman is nothing but a HUGE trouble maker....wtf was she thinking bringing that lawyer to the Gorga's Christmas party? And why in the world would the lawyer even want to go? What makes a woman of that age behave the way she does? It appears that Albie and Christopher end up escorting Kim G out of the party much to her dismay!

Ashley pissed me off when she said something like her mother loves drama saying "why do you think she was friend's with Danielle?" but now that I think about she may have a point because Jacqueline knows how much a trouble maker Kim G is yet she still goes to her home and is friendly with her.

In my opinion Kim G and Danielle are the lowest of the lowest right down there with other reality "stars" like Omarosa and Kate Gosselin. I wish someone would come up with some sort of reality show and place these rats against one another!

From what I've read on Twitter, it appears that after the lawyer was thrown out, KimG went on to harrass Lauren Manzo and was thus evicted by Albie and Chris. I can't wait to see this next week. Harrass Lauren.....really? What kind of mother would do that?

ETA: I just read an interview with Melissa and season 4 is already being filmed as we speak. Not sure if I can post the link as it is contained within a blog.

I really liked the way Melissa and her Joe handled evicting the attorney from their party. I thought it was done with a lot of class. Wonder what Theresa is going to complain about now?

I was a bit surprised they made the effort to do it, and it was good that they did - but I have to say I wasn't impressed with how they handled the discussion. They could've been firmer while still being polite, it reminded me of how some parents try to negotiate with a three-year old. They should have calmly and politely asked (well, told) them to leave, explain why, and then just leave it there, ensuring they (or she) left. Instead of constant bantering about why, they should have just responded, "That's the way it's going to be, we're sorry, we'll see you another time." Then shut up. The discussion and bickering seemed to go on forever, and I just tuned out. Maybe I'm too insensitive, but I'd have been firm and smiling at the same time. Maybe my interpretation is off base, too

Re: The Real Housewives of New Jersey

For the life of me I cannot warm up ANY to Melissa. Granted, I'm not a big fan of Tre, but I do get the contention between those two. Melissa will do anything for attention, and especially if it's attention being paid to Tre. She's the type to cuddle up to Tre's enemies (like why invite Kim G at all), try to overtake Tre's friends, try to stir up the family mess with little Joe-, all the while pretending to be the peacemaker. She rubs "her sisters" and "her family" in her face all the time, knowing Tre doesn't have that. She flaunts her "successes" while downplaying Tre's. She makes comparisons on everything, including kids. Her measuring stick for success isn't about her being the best she can be, it's being "better than" Tre: better looking, thinner, younger, most fun, most popular...whatever. It's simply not enough to have all that she wants, it's got to be bigger and better than Tre's. She is the most fake, phony wannabee on TV.

She reeks of insecurity and instead of moving out of Tre's shadow and creating her own sunshine, she'd rather rain on Tre's parade, and steal her thunder. This woman has nothing of substance to offer on her own, and wouldn't value it if she did stumble upon some redeeming internal quality. The only thing that makes her happy is upstaging Tre. What a sad, shallow existence. And NO, she can't sing, and she looks wretched without makeup. I didn't think her beef jerky face could get any worse, but this week she proved me wrong. No wonder Tre can't warm up to her either. She sees behind Melissa's public facade at the real motivation and intentions behind her actions. I think Tre has Melissa's real # and that's why she doesn't trust her. Neither would I.

Speaking of looking bad without makeup! This past year has been very unkind to Teresa. She looks about 55 without makeup, and older than her years with it. So, they just pile it on thicker. Sometimes, it looks like she's wearing corpse makeup.

I'm thinking that witch, Kim G., cast a spell on her!

Melissa would not get such a kick out of "gigging" Theresa if Theresa wasn't so "gigable"! Melissa pokes, and Theresa does the loony dance. That's even more reason to keep on doing it when you know what a great reaction you're going to get. If Theresa would learn to control her reactions and refuse to dance, Melissa wouldn't get anything out it it and she'd stop. It's a control mechanism. Too bad for Theresa if she doesn't get that. That knowledge usually comes with maturity but, wait.......the words 'maturity' and 'Theresa' don't really fit together well, yet.
