Re: The Real Housewives of New Jersey

My view, on Ashley pulling the hair, is that she was standing in the crowd, saw Danielle getting the attention and she wanted some of it. She wasn't "defending" her mom. Sure, it sounds better to say that and Caroline can keep on saying it but IMO that's not the truth. Ashley has NEVER come off as truly caring about her mom (or stepdad). She's a total bore with no drive or personality! It's really sad to see ANOTHER one of these loser kids on these shows. Why are so many of the "Housewife Kids" not going to college and not trying to make something REAL out of their lives? The only good kids, on any of the shows, seem to be Jeana's and Vickie's daughters! Laurie's kids, AWFUL. Tammy's (remember her pit bull daughter and the one with all the make up) AWFUL. ETC,ETC seems to be par for the course. They're all looking for a magical shortcut to fame and success (moms and the kids). I have a 19 year old daughter and THE rule is: You go to college(or some kind of school) or you don't live here! Jackie and her husband were soooooooo worried about Ashley's curfew but how about making a rule that , for her to move back in, she had to get a job (why not the Brownstone) AND sign up for school!!!!! Just a thought! The ONLY intelligent thing that I've EVER heard Ashley say was that she knows that she ,really, isn't model material! I'm sooo glad that she can actually see that (maybe she isn't so dumb). On the other hand......... Danielle's daughter is so BEAUTIFUL! She reminds me of a very young Mariel Hemingway (only much prettier). Even with the beauty I would still tell that girl that she NEEDS, NEEDS, NEEDS to get an education. Why is this something that (most) of these wives seems to fail at?

Amen to that. In Christine's case, though, I think she'll go to med school or something. She's only 16, but in the Nat'l Honor Society and a straight A student. She has a gift for academics. I think she's too smart to think that modeling offers her an actual future. Unlike her mom.

Poor kid, she's managed to excel in spite of her mother! To watch her, standing there, looking at her crazy mom breaks my heart! Kids, usually, hit a point where their parents embarrass them. Even if you are the WORLD'S best parent! Doesn't matter, it just happens! I can't even begin to imagine what it must be like to be on a reality show and your mom is acting like Danielle. This is a totally new phenomenon! Kids that became famous ,on TV shows, then had to go back to a normal life, once it ended. That's one thing. We've know about it for years but what is it that happens on these shows? They don't just have a bit of fame but ALSO crazy parents saying stuff, that must be sooooooo embarrassing! I can't even imagine what that would be like! A NIGHTMARE! I would have DIED if my (teen) life was on TV and my mother acted like an idiot!

If anyone writes one thing negative, then all of her Jersey friends send private messages calling the poster ugly names, etc. But Ashley no longer doing it; however, she's allowing it to happen. Forget what anyone says, if you want to post, go ahead and post -- and then duck. LOL

I keep meaning to stay off this Danielle topic, but then someone posts something and then I get PO'd all over again.

    What can I say?
I posted a comment on Ashley's FB page 2 months ago, and her hateful and illiterate fans are still flooding my newsfeed there.

Also, no one's ever given me sufficient reason to think that Danielle is a bad mother, much less a sociopath. Most of the criticism seems to be parroting comments from Jacqueline, Teresa, Dina, and Caroline. So, I find myself caught up in defending her, too

Your post brought back some memories for me: my sons' always asking me to drop them off precisely one block from their destinations. Even, one time, at 4 AM when I was taking my oldest to school to board a bus for a ski trip. A morning when I had awakened at 3:00 to de-ice the car windows and pack him a good lunch and munchies

And my youngest, who to this day is my fashion critic, telling me as I was dropping him off that, before going to work, I should go home and take "any 3 things off."

At some point in adolescence, our kids find our very existence embarrassing. I do hope the RH kids emerge from the experience unscathed.

It's not just the mortgage...but insurance and property taxes as well. That house sits on a very large lot...and NJ has some of the highest property taxes in the Country.

My home is only on an acre...and my property tax bill is over 14K a year.

Their taxes must be very high...and utilities....and maintenance....and so on and so on.

My reasons for thinking she's a bad mom don't come from anywhere but her. Have the others even really commented on her parenting? I'm not trying to be snarky, I just don't remember.

I disapprove of the fact that she brought Steve into her girls lives so quickly, when she didn't even know him. I think it's terrifying for a child to have to talk their mother out of doing things like driving by a party she wasn't invited to, in hopes of starting a controversy. She's stated many times that her girls are her best friends, and she tells them the things that happen to her. That's not fair to them. If she wants to constantly have drama, fine. But she shouldn't bring it into her girls' lives. Also, I was appalled that she didn't send them out of the room at the dinner, and I remember Christine saying something about staying in case she had to defend her mother. No child should ever have to feel like that. Can you imagine the instability?

I think everything you have described here was orchestrated by Bravo, and her kids know it is BS. They are smart kids, and they appear to love her very much. They seem to be normal kids who are also affectionate, mannerly, well behaved - and doing just fine. By contrast to the other kids on the show, Danielle's kids shine. They really don't appear much on the show, and maybe that's a very good thing.

As far as her porn tapes go - it's income. It's not illegal. And I'm pretty sure porn stars have kids who are not necessarily maladjusted.

[QUOTE=canuck;3994033;] It's amazing how articulate Danielle is on many of her interviews -- she speaks very well and intelligently. Even the haters commented on that.

Beverly aka Danielle looks and sounds to me like a well rehearsed lizard. There is nothing even remotely redemptive or attractive about her. I cannot imagine a civilized group of people who would embrace her; she promotes herself as just plain street trash, and I'm betting that's exactly what she is. Anyone that would let Bravo present her the way we've seen her for a couple seasons on RH... well it's hard to imagine a reasonably respectable woman allowing that image on national television. I think she's just plain creepy.

Bravo is trying hard to get a swing of sympathy for Beverly, trying to keep the drama going by painting that stupid Teresa devil red, and painting Jacqueline as an insipid instigator. Well, they've got that right! But Beverly is a gutter hag, and she trumps the worst of the rest of them.

Caroline, on the other hand, is looking smarter all the time. And I love the decor in her house - wow what $$$ it takes to get that look.

Funny! I wrote to Andy, last night, to say that Danielle looked like a lizard! She's so scary looking! I HATE it when she gets in her "High and Mighty", well rehearsed "LADY" mode. What a fake and fugly to boot!
