BURBANK, Calif. -- January 6, 2004 -- NBC Enterprises has licensed Scout Productions’ Bravo and NBC breakout hit “Queer Eye For The Straight Guy” in over 30 worldwide territories, it was announced today by NBC Enterprises Executive Vice President, Jerry Petry.
Recent deals for “Queer Eye” include TF1 France, Network 10 Australia, Channel 4 Finland, TVNZ New Zealand, Antena 3 Spain, Solar in the Philippines and TVB Hong Kong. In Latin America, “Queer Eye” has been sold to over 20 nations on Sony Entertainment Television, including Mexico, Argentina, Peru and Brazil.
In France, Australia and Spain, all three territories will also be producing their own local versions of the series. It was previously announced that both the format rights and U.S. episodes of “Queer Eye” had been sold in the UK to Flextech’s Living and in Scandinavia (Norway, Sweden and Denmark) to Viasat.
“‘Queer Eye’ is clearly now a worldwide phenomena,” says Petry. “This series has shown on Bravo and NBC that it is a breakout performer and we expect that to be the case for all our worldwide partners. ‘Queer Eye’ is a special show and the global interest in it backs that up.”
“Queer Eye” has re-written the Bravo record books and has become a ratings hit for NBC, as well. During the past season, “Queer Eye” achieved all-time record levels and boosted Bravo to its most successful ratings in the network’s 22-year history. Frances Berwick, Amy Introcaso-Davis and Christian Barcellos are executive producers for Bravo.
“Queer Eye” stars Ted Allen, Kyan Douglas, Thom Filicia, Carson Kressley and Jai Rodriguez - The Fab 5—who showcase the hottest styles and trends in fashion, home design, grooming, food and wine, and culture. Having found a unique niche in which lifestyles clash and everyone finds a common ground, Scout Productions has introduced a new trend in unscripted television, the “Make Better” show.
“Queer Eye” is produced by Scout Productions. The executive producers are David Collins, Michael Williams and David Metzler. The series was created by David Collins, a gay man, and developed by David Metzler, a straight man - a union of sensibilities that gives the show its depth, humor and edge.

This is very good news for the Fab 5, Bravo and Scout. They will get tons of perks and a few annoyances. I doubt any of them thought that they and the show would have taken off like it did.
The perks will go on and on. They'll get access to shows and meet people that they admire, increased monetary rewards and opportunities. Some annoyances will be more cameras in their faces when they don't want them and more speculations on who might be doing who.
nickie. I'm not too good in geography. Where is Hackney?
