Allen or others should ask questions and have their own opinions. It also made for a funny few moments!
hey, I'm new around here, and I just wanted to post something. I was wondering if anyone knows when Carsons birthday is? I've been asking around and no one knows. Thanx!!!
I don't know Carson's birthday. Maybe you can try the Bravo site and contact them (if you haven't already) and good luck.
Thanx everyone for the warm welcome and if your wondering about gothig, it is simply a nickname. I didn't misspell(sp) gothic. Thanx again and if I can be of any help, just ask *g*
I just saw Carson recently and thought you all might be interested in hearing about his appearance
I saw him at a film festival in Bethlehem, PA.
He looked great...the guy is so cute-- His hair is
quite long at the moment and was pretty straight. He has a very dark tan. He was wearing a silk (okay, it could have possibly
been leather),dark brown shirt. He had on
funky jeans...indigo with the faded effects and a zipper going all
the way up the side of each leg. And dark brown shoes...
They had some guy come out and interview him--for the life of me I
can't remember who...I was too busy taking Carson in!
They started talking about Queer Eye right away. Carson mentioned
that they shoot an epi a week and that they have to edit 80 hours
worth of shooting into about 49 minutes of show. On an average day
during week, he's at work by 8:00 and won't be done sometimes until
midnight. They shoot 3-4 days out of the week and other days he'll be
in meetings all day. :new There are NO writers for Queer Eye, rather the
FF are the producers. They're given free reign. They sit down with
one another to collaborate on where they'll take the straight guy,
what they'll do with him, etc. Obviously, this also means that their
lines aren't scripted like many people think they are! They are
shooting 40 epis this upcoming season, and the next new episode will
be shown Nov. 18th. They have a holiday epi in the works where they
go back and visit some of the guys they've already "made better".
Carson visited John Bargeman (the guy who proposed...) and commented
that John's done all right with his transformation except that "he
still has some dirty underwear". EWW!! The network is also planning
on bringing the show on the road and doing make betters in other
cities including "Chicago, Dallas, and L.A."
Carson is also writing his own book on fashion, separate from the Fab
5 book deal. It'll be published next "September" (though he hesitated
a bit on this)
He told a story about how the word "tjuz" came to be. When he used to
do photo shoots while working with Ralph Lauren, Jerry(sp?) Lauren
would tell him to "tjuz" the sleeves on the models, etc.
They showed a bunch of pics of him growing up that his mom had
brought to the event. They were all so cute. He had a great high school graduation picture--how many times
can I say what a cute guy he is?
He traveled a lot with previous job, Ralph Lauren, and likened it to being in the military and
seeing the world, "without having to kill people".
How he got on Queer Eye:
A co-worker at RL heard about the Queer Eye show on the radio in a
cab and told Carson about it. He called Bravo and no one there knew
what he was talking about. Next he called New Line Productions in
Boston and they told him he needed a casting agent. He sounded all a
bit overwhelmed by this and sorta did the whole "oh my god.." thing
on stage. He wound up sending a pic and a "sassy" letter into New
Line and they gave him a call to come audition. During his initial
audition, he cracked a joke about being there to audition for a pizza
commerical and no one got it. That freaked him out a little and he
had to wonder if he even wanted to go ahead with this. After the
initial audition, New Line kept calling him to come back for further
auditions/interviews--as often as once a week and he had to start
making excuses about missing so much work at
Ralph Lauren. He was worried about not getting one of the spots and
losing his real job as well. New Line finally shot a pilot back in
June(??) of last year with Ted, Carson and three other guys who they
wound up recasting.
I could have sat there and listened to him talk all night. He's
really well-spoken and interesting. His family was there to see him and he thanked them/mentioned them
repeatedly throughout-- I thought that was really cool. Afterwards,
he sent his mom home with a pretty bouquet of flowers that had been
decorating the stage..awwww.
Well, those are some of the snippets from the show.
Preventinjury, thanks for sharing. In the world of "predetermined reality" TV, it's so good to know that the show is basically left up to the FF and that it is not scripted. They have such a flow that I would have been impressed if it was planned. I agree that it was so nice that he thanked his parents and gave his mom the flowers. That was a good post.

I love Carson. He is attractive. He has a rapier wit and he's smart. I also feel that without him, the show would need a new title. To the straight population, he also epitomizes the gay man stereotype of outlandish effeminate acting and speaking with that falsetto tone. The other cast members do not fit that stereotype. Would the show be as popular without him? What do you think?
Yes, I think that it would work very well with or without Carson. I do like Carson though. To me, the others have witty personalities that are coming out more.
i,m new user. i thought carson looks like jon from s club 7( a band from uk).
i dont have picture, but trust me, they look-a-likee.
