Ha! My thoughts exactly. Everyone was very supportive of each other except for that two headed ball of negativity. It seemed as if Tim was annoyed with them as well and I liked how he handled his questioning 'yes or no?' They are just two little snots.

Since the twins have already had their own reality shows, they probably came into PR thinking that anything could be cleaned up/reshot if they ever looked bad. It's amazing how everyone else's strong feelings about integrity seemed foreign to them.

Amy came off great, and I was happy about that. In fact I liked everyone on the reunion more than I seemed to during the season.

I agree with justCoz, I was also surprised how much Tim was gushing over the season in general. But I think the addition of normal-sized models was a huge breakthrough, so this season will always be historic for that alone.

Well it was all a big mistake and Tim Gunn and the other designers simply did not give Claire and opportunity to collect her thoughts and actually listen to what was being asked and being calm enough to answer properly.

Controversial 'Project Runway' exit an accident, Grand Ledge twins say
    Rachel Greco, Lansing State Journal Published 2:52 p.m. ET Oct. 16, 2017 | Updated 8:05 p.m. ET Oct. 16, 2017

GRAND LEDGE - Claire Buitendorp said she didn't mean to cheat.

One week after her twin sister Shawn tearfully bowed out of a head-to-head challenge against her on the latest season of Lifetime's "Project Runway," Claire was booted from the show. She admitted to having a tape measure at the apartment where she was staying with the show's other contestants.

But Claire said that was accidental.

The tape measure was in her pocket after a day of filming in the show's workrooms, she said. She'd forgotten it was there and had it at the apartment for "a matter of hours" before "disposing" of it, she said.

On the show she told host Tim Gunn she used the tape to measure a few pieces of clothing, but Monday Claire said she never used it in the apartment.

"Once I got rid of it, I didn't think it would be a big deal," Claire said Monday.

She was wrong. On the latest episode, which aired Oct. 12, news that she had a tape measure outside of the show's workrooms, a violation of the show's rules, came out during an on-air disagreement with other contestants and the show's judges, Heidi Klum, Nina Garcia and Zac Posen.

Claire admitted to having it, and Gunn asked her to leave the competition.

Rebecca Brunner: 'Voice' blind audition 'craziest moment of my life'

It ends the Grand Ledge twins' latest reality television show run. Two years ago they competed and won VH1's "Twinning," taking home $222,222.22 to invest in their clothing business, Shock and Awww.

The controversial exit on 'Runway' was "frustrating," Claire said. Fellow competitors accused her on air of "ripping off" designs she had in her own closet, but she said there's no truth to that.

"Of course you're going to seek inspiration from things around you," she said. Other contestants did the same thing, Claire said.

"I want this competition to be as fair and equitable as possible, and it was very saddening to me when everything transpired."

The same day the episode aired, both twins took a humorous approach to the controversy. They posted a photo of Claire reading a copy of the book "Bad Girls Throughout History: 100 Remarkable Women Who Changed the World," by Ann Shen, to Shock and Awww's Instagram and Facebook accounts.

"Reading up on my new social club," the post read.

Both twins, 27, who interned with designer Betsy Johnson in New York when they were 21 and designed and created outfits for Katy Perry, said their "Project Runway" experience was largely positive.

"I don't want this one incident to cloud the entire experience," Claire said.

    Shawn agreed.

"I don't want to dwell on things when it was otherwise positive," she said.

From their home in Grand Ledge, where they grew up, they're already making plans to expand items offered through their online fashion line, and they're hoping to bring those clothes to stores.

"I think we're going to bring Shock and Awww to some major metropolitan areas," Shawn said.

Both say they don't plan to step away from the limelight anytime soon. They won't rule out another go at reality television.

"Truthfully, getting out in front of people is what's going to help us be successful," Shawn said. "Absolutely."

Yeah, that makes me feel bad for her, poor misunderstood Claire. Does she think people are buying this (other than her family)?

That's them in a nutshell -- they don't care as much about their clothes being great or having clean reputations, as long as they keep getting more and more famous. Bye Felicias!

"Bad Girls Throughout History: 100 Remarkable Women Who Changed the World" ? I doubt there is a chapter on a brat who cheated in a reality competition.

Sorry but Keith Michael in the Bravo run of the show was eliminated for having pattern books in the hotel even if not using them. He didn't tell them immediately and should've. So should've Claire if it truly was an error as FILM would prove it (Everything filmed saved bathroom breaks).

Still legit DQ for that reason alone.

I think angrier she was caught.

Re: 11/30 Project Runway 16 Reunion Show Thread

She's a liar. On another forum I frequent, a user said she listened to a radio talk show that had Margarita on it, and she said that several of the contestants went to the producers to complain about the twin's lack of integrity in the competition (the blatant Puma sweater copying, the sewing of each others outfits, etc) and were basically ignored. She also said that Claire measured stuff in the hotel room more than once, and that too was brought to the producers attention previous to the Dixie Cup challenge, and nothing was done. That's why Michael walked offstage after Claire won; he felt, at that point, that the whole competition was fixed and that certain contestants were given slack over others so they could win. Apparently it was Tim who put his foot down and told Michael, "No, that's cheating."

My guess is the people who went to the producers about this were the women Claire was rooming with at the time. Either way, I think that the twins working on each other's outfits should have been enough to get them bounced; you see people working together like that for group challenges, not individual ones, and they had an advantage that the other contestants didn't have. I really hope this torpedos their careers because they are gross, entitled brats. Also? Cheaters.

    She said per various recaps:

    Project Runway recap: Season 16, episode 9 | EW.com

Michael explains to Tim that he’s seen Claire has a retractable ruler in the apartment and she’ll write notes on paper or her hands outside of the workroom. Tim says he’ll investigate but Michael needs to get back out there.

“First things first: Claire, is it true that you’ve had a measuring tape in your room?”
    “I have a measuring tape.”
“Is it true that you’ve been measuring garments in your room?”
“I have measured a tank top and I have measured the crotch of a pair of pants.”
“All right, Claire, we must rescind your win and send you home.”
I wanted to check how Tim Gunn asked his questions and Tim was very clearly asking if Claire had been taking measurements in their hotel room. I simply LUV (this is very scarcastic) how at the reunion Claire defined room as the workroom, the workroom bathroom etc ... and not the supposedly implied hotel room.

I think she answered honestly because she didn't expect to get booted. She wasn't sorry then and isn't now. In her response about it "only" being those two items it's clear she didn't think it was a big deal. Now that it proved to be a big deal, she's backpedaling. She doesn't even realize she's only making herself look worse, not better.

As Amy pointed out, she could have given the measuring tape back immediately upon finding it in her pocket- if that part of her story is even true which I doubt.
