I doubt this program is so popular that they would go to extraordinary lengths to sequester those eliminated early on. Also, since all of the contestants go home before the finale there's no real need to.
The funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realise it doesn't say anything it's too late to stop reading it.

    Anybody know?
They film the whole show in about a month. Each challenge happens right after the previous one. They filmed season 4 last May/June. The auf'd designers were sequestered in NY for the length of filming (I don't know if this was the case in previous seasons, but it's true of S4).

They time the airing of the whole season to coincide with Fashion Week, either in February (most seasons) or September (Season 3). The reunion and finale episodes are put together quickly once the final fashion show happens, so that they air right after the challenge episodes.

The amount of time the finalists have had to make their collections has varied wildly, based on when they filmed all the challenges. In season 2, they had 5 months. In season 3, they had 2 months. This time, the finalists will have had 7 months. They need to figure out a way to make this more consistent, IMO.
