I'd recommend a separate spoiler thread too... cos it can become pages-long in itself. Also people can just click on that without having to wade through other stuff to read their spoiler of the day
Actually it is a great idea, I would've made one but didn't know if anyone had any spoilers. I don't have any either.
My prediction for this week - is that three people will be sent home. That isn't a spoiler cos it is a total guess. Why? Cos the way Santino said "why not send FOUR people home" - and he wouldn't say that if it was just one or two going, IMO. Also the three-model walk-off for Zuboomafoo at the end.
Also after that are 10 remaining episodes, (I think)? And what do I win if I'm right?? Nevermind
PS I tried to look up future ep names and TiVo only has next week's so far. "Team Lingerie" with vague description "they have to design lingerie" LOL.
Anyone want to "speculate" on who the socialite is?
Wish I could do a screen shot... There is a new ad for PR that shows "her" and just the head is blurred out.
The person is shorter than Heidi Klum, wears an ill-fitting (one button gaps) pink chenille cardigan with huge buttons (it actually looks kinda cheap; Gap at best, Target maybe... I've seen those at both) and an ivory-ish skirt in a plain fabric. The person has a flat chest and not much waistline... bit of a tummy... so I am guessing (wild guess I know) this is a person in their 30s at least. A very "real person" figure; not fashionable really; politician's daughter maybe?)
The pixelation does not cover the shoulder fully and there's either very long brownish hair, or part of a fur collar sticking out there. The colors in the pixels are mostly dark, so either the person has dark skin or hair (maybe both?). They look to be about a size 8 or 10. Not a model or actress type really.
Heidi is wearing her hair in an updo, a conservative white pearl-like necklace (it's not pearls but shaped like them, on a chain) and a black cocktail gown. She is standing very tall and smiling a tight smile at the mystery person, as if to someone of importance.
Any thoughts, anybody??? PS the show airs January 4. The ad also shows Andrae saying someone took his chiffon, and Lupe saying (her design?) looks "like crap" and Tim saying "I'm not gonna debate that".

I think there's a spoiler thread now... you could just post it in there and not worry about spoiler tags. I'd love to read spoilers but there don't seem to be many to be had. How do they keep the lid on this so well, with people knowing and seeing them etc., and so many people at fashion week later too?
PS, no one wants to guess on the socialite? I'm tihnking a politician's daughter, and someone elsewhere said a Gastineau girl, but are they socialites? I dunno who they are - football player's family, right?
It's not Paris Hilton, she's not skinny enough and looks a bit older. Plus her style is kind of out of date, (pink chenille with large buttons??) so I'd think she's not a fashion trend setter. (Which a lot of socialites are, so that's puzzling). I almost thought, "what about a Kennedy" (they dress conservatively) but I doubt they'd get into a game show.
What would everyone like to see as a designers' challenge?
This has the ring of deja vu, but I'm a bit preoccupied and anyway I have some new things on the topic I think...
Anyway I'll start - please list any other ideas, real, imagined, wishful thinking, ridiculous, serious, doesn't matter. What would you like to see as the next challenge? Or next season, doesn't matter.
1) Plus size women
2) Menswear - anything, whatever
3) Childrens' wear
4) Body paint clothing
5) The Sims 2 - like the Barbie challenge, only they have to use an existing silhouette for a Sim, and using only paint and fabric .jpg files, make a stunning outfit. Not as easy as it sounds.... And their model would wear the life size version. But the Sim one would exist only on computer.
After all why stick to ONLY needles and thread? Computers will be a big part of design I'm sure. I mean if they can ask them to make clothing in a supermarket, why not.
6) I doubt the show would, since it's fantasy they're selling... but how about clothes for the elderly or for the handicapped or some other specialist market like that. Handicapped, or circus*, etc., etc. And they have to do something not seen before or something very helpful/practical yet still beautiful. I'm serious - designing for those in a wheelchair would be a challenge, and I'm SURE one they had not considered. And socially helpful too. Well if they can design for the USPO why not?
* The two have nothing in common, other than needing clothing which is super practical and with more than one function.
I like the "everyday" woman, menswear, childrens' wear......actually, your list is excellent. Women from the Baby Boomer era (which are in the majority now).
"...each affects the other, and the other affects the next, and the world is full of stories, but the stories are all one." - Mitch Albom, one helluva writer.
When you throw a rock into a pack of dogs, you know which one you hit by the one that yelps!
I wish the show would do a challenge where the designers all had to use the same one color, not black, and the same fabric, but they could come up with any outfit they wanted. The designers could not dye or alter the pattern of the fabric, nor could they add other colors.
