Q:How would you describe your design philosophy or point of view?
I practice "synesthesia," the visualization of color through sound. My clothes create an emotional response with the wearer and viewer.
Q:What would someone close to you describe as your best and worst traits?
My enthusiasm is my best trait. I am an eternal optimist. My worst is the "dreamer" in me. I run with my imagination.
Q:What was your most embarrassing moment?
Pretending to be a fully religious minister, performing a wedding.
Q:What is an odd fact or talent you possess?
I can sing rock 'n roll karaoke. I own a wedding chapel.
Q:Who are the designers you admire most?
I admire Karl Lagerfeld (genius) and Alexander McQueen (original).
Q:What are your favorite fashion magazines?
W, Harper's Bazaar, Flaunt, WWD, Vogue, The Face, Elle Decor, and Time!
Q:What are your favorite TV shows?
The Apprentice and Queer Eye for the Straight Guy.
Q:What are your favorite movies?
North By Northwest (Grant, so stylish and cool), Barry Lyndon (a portal to the 17th Century), The Godfather (the American dilemma).
Q:If you could design an outfit for any living person, who would be your dream client and why?
I would love to design clothing for David Bowie. Because he is so conceptual in approaching music and fashion. He is the first to synthesize the modern elements of design & music (art, fashion, architecture, sound, irony, pluralism, images, literature) and do so in a consistent singular vision and voice.
