    Nora - The Punk

    http://www.bravotv.com/Project_Runway

Q:How would you describe your design philosophy or point of view?
I design practical garments for everyday wear and use. Functional design.

Q:What would someone close to you describe as your best and worst traits?
Best traits: hard-working, outgoing, fun and up for anything. Worst traits: apparently I'm too much too handle. And sometimes I think too much.

Q:What was your most embarrassing moment?
At my senior prom, my strapless dress fell down and I was, for a minute, wearing only a bra on top. It was classic.

Q:What is an odd fact or talent you possess?
I'm talent possessed, that seems to be the general consensus. I've been an artist forever, and it's my life.

Q:Who are the designers you admire most?
I admire Hamish Morrow, Hussein Chalayan, Alexander McQueen.

Q:What are your favorite fashion magazines?
Surface, Another Magazine, Nylon, and I-D.

Q:What are your favorite TV shows?
Elimidate, Late Night with Conan O'Brien and The Apprentice.

    Q:What are your favorite movies?
Batman (the first one), Amelie and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.

Q:If you could design an outfit for any living person, who would be your dream client and why?
Currently, my dream client would have to Bjork. She is, and always has been, years ahead of all of us in the world of fashion, music, and art. Her avant guarde work and style radiates from her; and I really don't think she minds what anyone else has to say about it. She is a true artist, and is one of the most expressive and innovative talents of our time. It would be an honor to add to her appeal.

Interesting. Sounds like the Ikea of designers.

So, just because her hair stands up on end, she's "The Punk"?

Who comes up with these monikers?

I like her. She has good taste in movies (LOVE Amelie and Eternal Sun) and you can't go wrong with Bjork.

She designs practical garments for everyday wear and use, as well as functional designs. She probably won't go far then because those are clothes "everyday-types" would wear.

I agree. I love that her style seems to be clean, modern, utilitarian, using crisp techno fabrics, but that's not necessarily "punk".

I see her as one of the top 3 here.

I love her taste across the the board, and her style looks very influenced by Japan.

Loved her design with the lawn chair, I agree that the corn husk design was VERY innovative, and the right person won that challenge, but she was a close second in my book... she's my favorite person so far

Lots of points from me for Bjork and Eternal Sunshine. I thought her chair design was okay.
