    Project Runway Season 2 Confirmed

BRAVO AND MIRAMAX TELEVISION TO LAUNCH A SECOND SEASON OF THE BREAKOUT HIT FASHION REALITY SERIES 'PROJECT RUNWAY'

SEASON TWO HOSTED BY HEIDI KLUM SET TO GO INTO PRODUCTION THIS SUMMER

New York, New York (March 21, 2005) - - On the heels of the overwhelming success of the first season of "Project Runway," Bravo and Miramax Television will begin production on the second season of the premier reality series set in the glamorous and rigorous world of the fashion industry, it was announced jointly today by Lauren Zalaznick, President of Bravo, and Harvey Weinstein, Co-Chairman of Miramax.

"It's been great discovering new talent and giving viewers the chance to have an inside look into the exciting world of fashion," said Harvey Weinstein. "We're looking forward to another successful season of 'Project Runway' with Bravo and Heidi Klum."

"'Project Runway' is in the cross hairs of Bravo's programming mandate--to give viewers a unique, behind the scenes perspective into the creative process of an integral part of pop culture," said Zalaznick. "Miramax is the absolute best television partner on this series that we could hope to have for this second season, and many more to come."

Supermodel Heidi Klum will return as host of the series, which gives aspiring designers a chance to break into the notoriously difficult-to-crack fashion world. Along with the critical praise the series received, the first season garnered record ratings for Bravo. With 500% growth over its total-viewer and key demographic premiere numbers in December, the series finale on February 23 of cable's hottest show delivered the highest numbers for any Bravo telecast for the 2004-05 season to date.

"Project Runway" is executive produced by Dan Cutforth and Jane Lipsitz of Magical Elves ("Project Greenlight," "Last Comic Standing"). Heidi Klum and her managers Desiree Gruber and Jane Cha of NYC-based Full Picture will also executive produce the series. Jennifer Berman, senior vice president of production and development and Barbara Schneeweiss, director of television, will oversee the production on behalf of Miramax Television.

    Here's a funny description from tvguide.com
PROJECT GREENLIT: Bravo has sewn up a deal for a 10-episode second season of Project Runway, to debut this summer. Producers are expected to stick with the same successful formula of pitting 11 up-and-coming fashion designers against one crazy middle-aged hag.

    *Love* the TV guide description.

Thank goodness. I've been watching ANTM to try to tide me over, but it just isn't the same anymore. Admittedly, there's no middle aged hag on ANTM (Oh, wait! Scratch that! I forgot Janice!) but I wanna watch a bunch of talented (and some not-so-talented) designers spend a ridiculously small amount of time trying to design space suits for astronauts out of used rubber tires and dixie cups!!!

    YEAH!

When is the next season airing 'cause The Cut ain't cutting it?

Heidi, spit out that kid already and bring your uber-intelligent German accented catch phrases "either you're in or you're out," and "auf Wiedersehen" back into my life.

P.S. You and Tyra Banks should thank Tommy Hilfiger for making the viewers of your shows appreciate you more.
"We all know that we're going to get beat tonight." - Melrose (ANTM Cycle 7) when Monique gets eliminated from the CoverGirl / Queen Latifah challenge.

"Hi pretty lady...and Tyra." - Heather (ANTM Cycle 9)

I'm sooooo excited too!! (<---- my excitement.) No one knows the premiere date for sure, but folks on the Bravo board are saying December 7th.

I also read that Daniel will be returning as a contestant. Hmm. . .I was wondering where his "bliss" would lead him.

ETA: PR Season One comes out on DVD on November 29th, says amazon.com, and there will be a follow-up show describing Jay's exploits since the show wrapped called "Project Jay." Whether it will be a one-time special or 12 ep series, no one's certain. Bravo is certainly being very stingy with its info.
