All she really had to do was tie up some loose ends and that would have been it.
I also preferred Korto's bridal before she changed it. The original had very interesting texture around a very traditional Queen Anne neckline. It had an ethnic feel b/c of the color and snake skin embellishment, but it also looked like a modernized, high fashion wed gown. IMO, her bmaid was a disaster; not b/c it was an ugly dress but b/c it did not work w the bridal. Color too similar. Style had nothing to do w the bridal.

Loved Leanne's really haute couture look for her gown.

Jerryl, was there a hoop under the tulle part that made the taffeta drape funny? That was a mess. I thought the bodice was okay except for the gross rectangular plastic (?) jewels around the empire waist.

What a great observation. Very true.

When I saw Kenley's dress come down the runway, I immediately thought of Christian. I may have thought of McQueen but I'm not up on all that so I wouldn't have had a clue.

Any which way you look at it, Kenley's dress is not original. Whether it was Christian, McQueen, or Swan Lake.

Still, and I hate to say it, I thought Kenley's dress was very well done and very pretty. I actually like what she did better than Christian, McQueen, and all productions of Swan Lake that don't take place at Lincoln Center.

Funny thing is, we can take that even further...Look at Laura Bennet's collection and her use of feathers, she had a pretty black dress where the bodice was basically feathers, can go even back to Wendy Pepper on that one.

I bet Kenley will win... they saved her from 2 eliminations for a reason.

Santino was saved on Season 2 quite a few times. He was kept because he was good drama, and they also believed in his (somewhat) original point of view. Kenley is good drama, but she is just not original enough, as limited as originality is in the fashion world. And she is not even a good villain, in fact, she isn't even one. She is just a whiner. In my opinion, she could only win if the people in the show were trying to blow a raspberry (to say the least) to Bravo before they move to Wifetime. And looking at this season, that doesn't seem too far fetched.

Kenley shouldn't win because of the wedding dress, the concept, design should be original. Yes it is a beautiful dress but it was an idea she got from someone else.

I will have to watch another rerun and check out Korto's original design. For some reason, I can't remember it. I want to see if it was actually better than what she presented on the runway. I must say that the final bridal gown didn't seem to represent her point of view. The one thing I will say about Korto is that her clothes are always well made. They never look tacky or cheap. But her final gown was a mess. It wasn't even flattering to the body.

So I will check out the original and see if I think it was better.

Jerell could have come up with something truly amazing. He just can't quite get there. Jewels on a bodice? It looked like some weird wedding dress that a queen might have worn in the nineteenth century. He just isn't able to stand back and look objectively at what he is doing. A simpler bodice might have gotten him into the final three, although I believe that the judges didn't want him there. Maybe they thought he would implode with these two designs.

I am still puzzled by their original decision to give him the win in that final challenge. They certainly do things the hard way. Maybe they think it was better drama.

This last season on Bravo is certainly ending on a down note for me.

I actually think Leanne will win. Leanne always stands to the right of Kenley during judging. The way Heidi's eyes are directed in announcing the winner in the commercials seems to go to Leanne.

If they had such serious reservations about him as a designer, then they simply could have chosen someone else. Leanne also did a very good job with her gown, except for the piece of blue fabric that she stuck on the back. This way they would have avoided the ridiculous situation in which they found themselves. It was fairly obvious to many of us here that they just wanted an excuse to keep Jerell from sailing into the final three. Again, if they had that much doubt, why give him the win in the first place?

However, based on the bridal and bridesmaid designs, I can't justify sending Jerell to the final three. Once the judges opened it up to everyone, then all bets were off. Jerell did have his chance. He chose to ignore Tim's very good advice and paid the price. The bodice of that gown was just hideous, garish, costumey, whatever adjective works. Not good enough and tacky in the bargain. I guess the rationale would be that if Jerell was good enough, he would step up again and finally earn his place in the final three. He didn't get it done. In fact, I think his designs confirmed the judges worst fears.
The judges were in a situation they did not anticipate. The final challenge did not yield a clear winner. Jerell did not make as many blatant mistakes as the others so he won by default. I do believe they were prepared to give a safe spot to the winner if any of them had knocked them out of the park. They have not been impressed with Jerell, overall, and did not feel confident that he should have a secure place in the finals. I get this and think it played out as they suspected.

I agree with everything you have said and it will be an exciting finale because it is really not clear who will take the win.

Did you notice the looks Tim got when he announced the bridesmaid challenge? Truly, if they could kill...
I love the way Korto owns her body. She puts herself together really well. She looks great without the afro, I think.
Kenley was so giddy when she got praise for her plagiarism. What a contrast to her attitude when she gets the slightest criticism. That is such a sign of immaturity. Let's hope she grows up and gets out of the fifties.
