| Re: New York Fashion Week Spring 09 **SPOILERS** I took another look through the slide show this morning and, of course, I got mixed up on a few things. For one, Leanne's first outfit did not have the white belt - LOL. Leanne - I took note that her wedding dress could actually be two pieces. It seemed as though the longer portion of the skirt could be romoved so you would have the short bubble skirt for the reception and dancing. Jerrell - I noted that he carried forward the good use of trims that Daniel approved in his winning design this past week. He seemed to use many of the same techniques here, and I thought a couple leaned toward arabian nights. Korto - she used the bronze only twice, but the one dress that could have been beautiful was the one where she used the necklace as one of the straps and then a wide cloth piece from he bodice as another strap. If she had left only the jewelry strap and left off the cloth strap (probably thought she was balancing it) I think it would have worked better. Joe - he bought a lot of the same leather and worked it to death. Suede - Where Joe bought leather, Suede bought netting of different weights and colors and used it extensively. It was the unifying factor in his designs, but oh my, talk about pooping fabric. Kenley - No matter how hard I tried... on her two sheath type day dresses, I couldn't get past the thought that they looked like Butterick (sp) patterns for purchase off the shelf. One thing I noticed with all of them - not a babydoll dress in the bunch! Each was showing a proper waistline, and quite a few showed a broad belted demarcation between bodice and skirt. Next time I look, I'll probably find more to see and more ways to correct my memory.

| Re: New York Fashion Week Spring 09 **SPOILERS** Haven't had a chance to look at the collections yet, but I just had to laugh at the lame excuse given for Jennifer Lopez's dropping out, apparently at the last minute. If she was too injured to sit in a chair on Friday, I wonder how in the world the poor thing managed to compete in a triathlon two days later?

| Re: New York Fashion Week Spring 09 **SPOILERS** MY TAKE ON FASHION WEEK... LEANNE- I found her collection well made and pretty but not very fashion forward but I also see her winning the whole thing. She has Lauren's eye for detail and some were in the best fashions KORTO - I really like her collection except the green short dress (pants?). I really loved the white gown, it was gorgeous and a couple were in the best fashions JERELL- Not really loving his collection but the black dress withthe sheer black top caught my eye. However, his collection is the most interesting and out there of the group SUEDE-bloody horrible and almost all of his collection was in the most worst fashions JOE-boring that is all I can say, except he seemed to channel Terri and Stella in some of his collections KENLEY- Just seen them all before and nothing stood out in her collection. At least with Korto and Leanne, there was some innovation but she is stuck in one style. |

| Re: New York Fashion Week Spring 09 **SPOILERS** These are easily the best photos of the designs, so thank you to the person who posted this link. I think Leanne and Korto are the two strongest here. Kenley had some good designs, but her collection was uneven and not that well done. I expected more from her, but with her recent attitude and ego, I guess I should have expected this. Some of her prints were hideous. She should have really taken a good look at DVF's prints to see how it's done. She is talented, but limited and her inability to listen to the critiques of the judges really hurt her. Joe's was so tacky it was embarrassing. It looked like a collection for a rodeo. The less said the better. His limited talent was really exposed here. Jerell has a unique and creative point of view, but I think taste is an issue with him. He can't seem to edit and pull back at times. He had some great designs, but overall it looked kind of tacky and over the top. I just don't think he is "there" yet. Leanne's was my personal favorite. I think she really pulled off a brilliantly constructed, well thought out collection. I loved the colors and her ability to use interesting shapes was fabulous. I like her style. I do think she has a future in fashion. Korto's was second. I liked much of what she did, but I didn't think it was particularly innovative or exciting. What she does, she does well. But it just wasn't enough. These collections were kind of disappointing. They certainly would not stand up to last season's. They show that this group was limited as far as talent. But I do think that Leanne is the clear winner. She at least did something that warranted being show at BP. |

| Re: New York Fashion Week Spring 09 **SPOILERS** My goodness! I actually left out Suede. I think that's a Freudian slip. His was so bad that I probably wanted to forget that I even saw it. I could not believe how bad it was. Just embarrassing. The colors were like bubble gum, the designs were hideous and it looked amateurish and tacky. I also wanted to add that the green pants and dress in Korto's collection were my least favorite. She had a one shoulder asymmetrical gown that was gorgeous. Jerell's was out there, if that's what the judges were looking for. But you have to be out there in a good way and I don't think he pulled it off. I expected more from him. |

| Re: New York Fashion Week Spring 09 **SPOILERS** I loved Leanne's and Korto's, and think Jerell fell into the same problem that Michael did a few years back - without Tim around to help critique every time (and even everytime it didn't help Jerell, but did help Michael a LOT)...he really fell back. I don't care who the 3rd or 4th parties were, there were really only 2 in it to win it in my book (what would have happened if Leanne had gone in that first epi)? |

| Re: New York Fashion Week Spring 09 **SPOILERS** I just finished going through all 6 collections and I'm afraid I have to give a big I tried to find something to like, regardless of the designer, but I honestly didn't see anything that qualified as being more than "not as bad as..." some of the others. What a disappointment, but not all that unexpected considering that this entire season has been a major letdown.

| Re: New York Fashion Week Spring 09 **SPOILERS** Actually it was the 2nd episode NFL1. She overworked her "noodles" in the NY at night challenge. Though I didn't care for her 1st episode attempt, either, it wasn't at the bottom. |

| Re: New York Fashion Week Spring 09 **SPOILERS** I watched the shows on another computer. The collections in motion are a lot different than still pictures. Jerrell was my favorite going in. His collection appeared a little busy. He needed to spring it up. That being said, I still want to see more from him. |
