Re: Worst PR Season Ever? My problems with this season are quite simple... We get a new cast, but there are a couple of them that are trying to hard to just get themselves crowned cult-queens. Blayne tries his best to come up with a multitude of catch-phrases, hoping they will somehow stick around and pop up across the board. But his best just isn't good enough, or it's too much, I'd rather say. They aren't catchy and they come across as fabricated. The same goes for Suede with his rather childish way of adressing himself. Stella is a one trick pony, with a thick fake accent to boot. Then there is the bland and the boring. I can't for the life of me keep Leanne and Jennifer apart, they're like clones, and they're sharing one personality, which is obviously spread thin between the both of them. They make for boring television, especially when placed next to loudmouths that try too hard. Wesley I haven't heard him utter five words I believe during his time on the show. Korto also doesn't strike me as the type I'd turn the tv on for. The drama isn't there, the fun isn't there, but they're trying to pretend that there is some of it there. It's just that they're not very good at pretending... Then there is the bitch-crowd. The people who really think they've got something unique and special and that have grown bitter because they never really got a chance. Terri and Joe come to mind on that level. Those two just aren't fun to watch. Joe doesn't come across as a sympathetic guy and Terri turned into the prime example of being a stuck up bitch. That's what is lacking for me this season, a sense that this show is fun to watch. It also isn't helping much that there is a severe case of "been there done that" to the challenges, and quite frankly, I'm not all that impressed with the clothes that walk up and down the runway. Last year you had Rami who kept draping, and even though people weren't fans of his curtain fetish, he did get a couple of garments out that honestly looked good. Chris was a huge drag queen, but he made some good looking stuff between takes. Christian and Jillian both had a visually appealing style. But I do have to say that last year I felt the level of expertise was too high, this year, when compared, is too low. I do get the feeling that we're dealing with people who are really starting out, whereas last year I had the feeling that the people involved had already made a name for themselves. Rami for one, had already been to fashion week and a-list stars had already worn his garments...

Well, this and the fact that more & more designers are trying to be "characters" and make themselves stand out, rather than let their designs stand out. | |

Maybe they should have kept those leftovers on file after all...

Re: Worst PR Season Ever? I partly agree with you, but still think it's bad because it's a reality show. If they want better clothes coming down the runway, give them more time and less surprises. How can you judge talent if you rush them all the time? Many of the designers might be able to pull off something great, but not how the show currently operates. It's worse than ANTM.

Then they get bitchy on the runway when they are nailed by the judges, and start defending a ridiculous garment as if it were Chanel. Everyone's a Santino toward Nina, Michael and (amazingly) Heidi this year. They're all balls and less brains. ![]()

Re: Worst PR Season Ever? You know I was reading another forum's posts today, about last season, and interestingly enough that forum began exactly the same way: Boring clothes, no innovation, no drama, worst season of PR..... etc. etc. Do you think we look back with rose colored glasses? Or are we really looking at the blatent "reality characters" that our focus is away from the designs? Just a question; I'm not accusing or condoning either way.

Re: Worst PR Season Ever? Since season 1 it has always taken me some time to get comfortable with the new cast. After a couple of shows I would start picking favorites and get into it. This just hasn't happened this season. I don't have a favorite, just some that I don't hate as much as the others. I haven't been sad to see any of them go. I might not like a person's personality but if they make wonderful outfits I am forced to admit their talent. No, I shouldn't just judge this season on their personalities alone but this IS entertainment. I like to think that if you're a creative person, you might have something funny or interesting to say. This cast doesn't. Yeah, I watch it, every week. Guess that it's better than not having a season of PR on at all.

I just don't care who wins or loses. In fact, I'd rather watch a repeat of any episode of the first three seasons than a new episode of this season ![]()

Re: Worst PR Season Ever? I've grown used to people claiming that the current seasons are never as good as the one previous, and even though the talent level isn't as good this time around, I'll still watch because I do still believe PR is a quality reality show, and will only stop watching when it becomes a silly farce ala Top Model.
