I'm shocked that the contestants are given cash to spend at Mood. I guess I kind of thought they were each given a check card OR Tim had the money and they were only allowed to spend up to their individual limit. Putting her money in her top was an incredibly boneheaded move on Anya's part. If she didn't have any pockets on her outfit, why didn't she have another contestant hold her money, ask Tim to hold it, or leave it at the register for when she came back with her fabric? It's amazing that no one else has ever lost their money over all these seasons of the show.
When they came back from Mood, every time Tim popped in, I kept expecting him to tell Anya that her money had been found. Then when they went back to Mood for materials for their second look, I thought they might tell Anya her money had been found. Never did happen.
Honestly, I didn't think it was as big of a deal as she made it out to be. She had muslin and they're allowed to dye their fabrics so with the right notions and accessories, she could have pulled out something. Maybe it wouldn't have been what she originally planned but it would be enough to keep her from getting sent home.
Josh would have been better off if HE had lost his money. :lol
Could be a spoiler out there that proves me dead wrong, but my gut tells me Bert makes it to the finals (because he listens to the judges) with, of course, Anya (because she is so fabulously talented) ... and either Laura (whom Nina doesn't favor) or Viktor (who, given his edit tonight, I expect to see stumble after having peaked a hair too early), or both ... and if both, two of the four will be going head to head prior to the finale.
Anyway, there it is ... my prediction as to who makes it to fashion week. ;-)
I was surprised by the judges critic of Bert's designs tonight too. I think they gave him a better edit on this episode. He was smiling and being joyful. It was fun to watch.
Josh should have been gone. Too bad he's good for TV and Anthony Ryan is not.
I can't believe I forgot about this website!! I have been gone for a while and then I watched Project Runway tonight and thought geez. I wish there was somewhere I could grip and moan when my favorites don't win or get cut too early and I thought there is such a place, and it's here. Sad Anthony Ryan had to go, but Josh's was the worst thing I have ever seen on that runway. ICK. I thought they were too hard on Laura. I totally would buy that skirt, hated the chevron top, though.
I'm kind of hoping that Bert goes far in this competition. Normally, I try not to let the emotional back stories affect my pick for winner. I don't think I am doing that for Bert although I admire him.
Being sucessful in his chosen field and losing it all due to grief and depression that ended in drinking away his life, and now trying to pull it together, no more drinking and trying to live his life, impresses me.
But the main part is that he knows what he's doing and is talented also. At least as good/talented as any of the other designers, since there's no standouts this season.
Yes, he gets pouty, b*tchy, and a smart alec but many of them are and do also.
My other reason is I'd really like to see an "old person" win one of these reality shows. They never seem to win, like on Survivor, etc and I understand that youth is an advantage in that kind of contest. But this seems like the winner could be any age. Doesn't require strength or stamina.
I'm doubly bummed. I read hear that Anthony is eliminated (I am very pro-spoiler and didn't have time to watch tonight). AND he's in doing a show with a Q&A in the morning here, but 30 minutes after I have to be on a plane. If not, I'd be going into work late tomorrow and seeing him. Like MFW said, he was the only one I was pulling for, not just because he's my local guy but because he's shown some real promise, generally tried to get along with everyone, and didn't wax his eyebrows to hell and back.
At this point, who is left to root for? Bert, on a second chance? Anya, for the newbie? Viktor maybe...he's pretty solid (don't know what he produced tonight)? At this point, I'm down to rooting for Tim to cut the cord and start dishing on the season. But that will never happen.
I do think Josh should have been the one to go tonight. Those plaid pants!!!!:rofl:ohno:cyclops:wo w:eek (Every crazy extreme smiley would apply here...) They eliminated Anthony with the boring edit. Pretty sad when ugly and unflattering beats boring. I do think that Anya did a great job on that muslin. I was surprised that she won, though! I thought the color of the top would have kept her from that top spot. The fact that Bert also got a look featured in PiperLime made it all work out quite nicely - I loved Bert's simple dress.
I'm liking Viktor less and less. I understand that it's a competition, but he was so cold about not sharing any fabric with Anya when everyone else was rallying around and trying to help her. I wonder if his attitude would have been "it's a competition" if HE had been the one who lost his money and literally had nothing with which to work. But Karma smacked him upside the head when she won. There were some interesting reaction shots from him when both Anya AND Bert were told their garments would be available on Piperlime. Good for them . . . they both deserved it.
It's amazing how Josh and Bert seem to have managed to put aside their personal differences of the past. I think it makes the show more enjoyable to watch without all the drama.
