    Exactly!

I actually grew to like him . . . not really his designs, but him. Kinda reminded me of Hank Azaria's character (Agador) from The Birdcage.

He reminds me of Ron Perlman - Ron Perlman in The Name of the Rose.

They have the same strong, distinctive features: jawline, big mouth, eyes, hairline, etc.

He drove me crazy at first, but he became one of my favorite personalities.

Same here. I sure wish Ivy have gone instead of Cassanova. If the kept Ivy for the drama factor, I think that was mistake. Cassanova is a more complex "character" -- much more interesting than Ivy.

Interesting interview with Cassanova: Project Runway's Casanova Talks About Tim Gunn and Defends Gretchen and Ivy | Movieline

He doesn't understand the judges conception of resort wear (neither do I). He likes Gretchen and sees Ivy as a ninja.

Ivy doesn't bring anything interesting to the table, Casanova did. Do I think he was faking most of the time? Absolutely. My family is Cuban, my mother and grandparents speak perfect English and yet when they don't want to be bothered (or let's face are trying to get over on something/body) they will pretend not to understand "Eh, sorry, no comprendo. Only speak un poquito Engleesh." My brothers and cousins and I always laugh at them but shrug, what can you do?

So I recognize it when somebody else is pulling the same stunt.

However, I will forgive a lot if the character is entertaining me and oh boy did Casanova ever entertain me! The squinting, the over dramatization, the accent, the exaaaactly. Everything about him was so fun that it made me want to be there and let him entertain me (as long as I didn't have to compete with him and then the faking would have made me want to hurt him).

I miss him on this show and Ivy should have left. I find it interesting that we have yet another person who is saying that Gretchen wasn't all that bad. It's all in the editing folks and I truly do believe that she does not mean ill of any of them and will be horrified when she sees it all played back and see how they twisted it all to make her look.

Casanova seems pretty easy going for a diva. And I mean that affectionately. Gretchen, in my mind, is getting a bossy and talks down to people edit. Not a witch edit that Ivy is getting. And of course they are going to put on air all the juicy stuff that fits the story line.
