    Blayne - Season 5

    Blayne

    Age: 23
    Home: Yakima, Washington
    Education: Art Institute of Seattle
Favorite designers: John Galliano, Yohji Yamaoto, and Diesel
    Fashion must: Neon anything!

Blayne began his fashion career right out of high school when he moved to attend the Art Institute of Seattle. Upon graduating AIS, he was approached by Seattle Seahawks' running back Shaun Alexander to design an up-and-coming athletic line. He continues to build his name by selling his creations in local boutiques and throwing fashion shows. Blayne was also named Seattle's "Most Stylish Male" by a panel of judges.

The "Most Stylish Male" in Seattle? They're kidding, right? There's nobody in the entire city of Seattle that is more "stylish" than this guy?

I was actually thinking the same thing when I read the bio, come on, he's wearing jeans and a hoodie. Maybe it's the "crazy" colours of a purple hoodie and green flipflops that sealed the deal, everyone else up for jugding chose their blue flipflops.

Also, "Neon anything!" I would have hope that neon was left way back in the eighties and were to never come back. I guess that's where said purple hoodie and green flipflops come in. I never thought I could someone like neon AND be chosen "most stylish"

To be fair, he is from the birthplace of grunge (flannel), where it rains more than it doesn't. Can you blame them?

Blayne's style reminds me very much of my son and his skater/snowboarder friends. It's a look that hasn't died here yet.

Henry Holland's been doing neon for a few seaosns on his slogan t-shirts.
I think time is running out for neon though.

Honestly, he looks like he's dressed for a Washington Husky game (purple and gold, baby!). And, I'm hoping this isn't the outfit that won him most stylish male.

Hillbilly town? You are obviously a sadly misinformed individual!

Yakima is the birthplace of the racing strollers you see athletes and anyone else who can actually afford them, toting their kids around in. The guy who invented them is a multi-millionaire. It is also home of some of the most innovative mountain bike manufactures you will ever see. The racks and carriers I've seen all over the U.S. with the Yakima brand on them...also originated in Yakima.

If sports aren't your cup of tea...perhaps you should try wines produced in the Yakima valley. Yakima is one of the top wine producers in the U.S. and has even started exporting wine to France, Spain & Italy.

Before you lump me in with your so called "hillbillies", I'm not from Yakima. I call Westlake Village in CA my home but I am currently living in Portland, OR. My company is working on a building project in Yakima so I have been commuting back and forth as the project progresses. Yakima may not be Westlake Village but it is far from being a hillbilly town.
