Re: Project Runway Season 5 in the Media

I'm surprised we haven't seen any model bios at all. I also noticed in the preview rooftop meet-n-greet, no models. I remember the good old days when the models attended the opening rooftop party.

Are the models being marginalized to the point of non-existence?
Is there some strange reason we haven't seen model bios?...maybe there will be some returning models from previous seasons?

Bravo may still be ignoring the models, but once the show moves to Lifetime for season 6, the models are getting their own companion show. "Models of the Runway" will look at PR from the models' perspective, and (I assume) run side-by-side with each PR episode.

That actually sounds like it may be interesting. Of course it kinda depends on the models they cast...

I am a little pessimistic about the move to Lifetime, but I will try to keep an open mind.

I cannot WAIT for the season premiere tonight!!!

Me too! But I sort of dread the "Lifetime" sojourn.

Well, the lack of promotion on Bravo's part didn't seem to matter: PR is still a hit!
Project Runway Return Sets Bravo Record
Shear Genius, Flipping Out hit new highs

    By B&C Staff -- Broadcasting & Cable, 7/17/2008 7:44:00 PM

Project Runway returned for its fifth and final season on Bravo Wednesday, delivering 1.81 million viewers among adults 18-49 and drawing the highest rating in total viewers (2.915 million) for a season premiere in the network’s history.

The strong showing is no surprise for what has become Bravo’s flagship show. It remains to be seen whether Bravo viewers will follow the reality competition when it returns for a sixth season this fall at its new home, Lifetime Television.

Bravo’s Shear Genius and Flipping Out also reached milestones.

The fourth episode of Shear Genius’ second season broke 2 million viewers Wednesday -- the fifth Bravo series to do so -- with 2.164 million total viewers and 1.293 million in the 18-49 demo. Flipping Out passed the 1 million-viewer mark, with 1.136 million total viewers and gains in the key demos.

    Project Runway judges Awards Season

Zac Posen and Georgina chapman always seem to make a comment about the red carpet best/worst list when judging the designers. I just looked through a photo gallery from last night and Lena Dunham scored a D in Zac Posen and Heidi Klum got a C- wearing Marchessa. I thought it was a bit interesting. Both were 2 of my least favorite looks.

The Marchessa dress Heidi wore was not so bad, but Heidi's styling brought it down.

I might be a bit off topic here but I saw that Michael Costello designed Beyonce's grammy gown.

I saw that online. How awesome for him! I really liked him on his season.
