Why are these photos so effin' bad? >: !!
Love Kara's! It was gorgeous, and Jenny looked marvelous in it.
Is it just me, or is Robert's dress have some strange hoop on the top making the dress stick out on top??
Not liking Alexandra's dress at all. Eww ruffles on a wedding dress! Good luck getting your husband impressed with that Erin!
I really, really liked Wendy's as well. The back was awesome!
Jay's was nice. The top was plain and boring, but the bottom was nicely done.
Kevin's looks really elegant and fancy. Love that he added a veil since so few did so!! >: ! Why was Olga all "cry cry cry" ?? Because it was itchy??
Ok, what in the poo was the model thinking?! And what in the double poo was Austin thinking actually making the dress look like that?! I mean, c'mon you dum-dum.
I like Nora's!! I think it looks excellent, and the roses look beautiful. It is very fairy tale and I'm sure tons of women would love to wear that for their wedding.
Kara- Very nice. I can see why this won. It's elegant and classy. I would wear it on my wedding.
Robert- Hmmm...It's not awful, but its not good either. It's just so unoriginal. I've seen this dress a thousand times. Plus when Martinique whipped that skirt right off, I could practically hear the porno music.
Alexandra- Lovely. Definitely in my top 3 of the week! I normally don't like ruffles, but I like the vintagey yet simple design of the dress.
Wendy- It's nice but meh....It's not spectacular. I'm not sure about the red (especially in the back). I think instead of red, I would have liked to see a different type of white material or a shade not as far off from white.
Jay- My favorite dress! I would love to wear this dress on my wedding. I definitely like the whole "Calvin Klein" feel of the dress (and the bottom is amazing).
Kevin- Considering that Olga wanted diamonds all over the dress (vomit), I think Kevin did a decent job of balancing what Olga wanted with what he thought would work. It's not my thing, but for a diamond studded dress, it's not so bad.
Austin- Wow, not a wedding dress (maybe a longer dress would have helped)! Still I don't think he should have be in the bottom two. They used the excuse that it wasn't wedding-y enough, but didn't Heidi say a red mini skirt could be a wedding dress? She obviously didn't mean it.
Nora- BLEH! I hate this dress so much. From the uninspiring shape, to the hideous purple flowers, it's just bad. Nora could have easily done a "rose" dress without all the tackiness.
In defense of Austin when I got married I had a green dress made. I'm Latin American and I wanted something complely non-traditional because I am not catholic, not tradtional and not your average chick.
My dress didn't look like Austin's, but it wouldn't have looked "wedding" enough for the judges. In the end though, I was the one who determined what wedding was and was not.
So in a way I feel that although I didn't particularly like Austin's dress the judges were too square. :)
Yea I do agree. Didn't Julia say that she liked the dress, and that she wanted something non-traditional for her wedding? And, wasn't the challenge about making Julia happy? Well if Julia thought it was "wedding" enough for her, why would the judges complain?

Personally, I hated Alexandra's. I would have sent her home. She's not stood out at all this competition, and I really did not like her dress. Austin was insane for putting all his eggs in one basket. He focused too much on what the model wanted, which would be fine in real life, but when you know it's a challenge and you're being judged on design too, he came up w/ the wrong answer.
-Jay is my favorite and he did a great job once again.
-Kara's was beautiful, but she didn't wow me because I feel like I've seen similar stuff from her every week.
-Wendy's coming into her own now. She's still not the nicest person, but after Banana Republic she stepped her game up. She worked well last week, and I really liked her dress w/ the red accents and all (minus the red shoes).
-I really liked Nora's dress. It wasn't ugly at all, that's not why they cut her. They cut her because it wasn't original. They said you could find that dress, or something similar, in a store and that it didn't fit her style. I thought she did well by catering to Melissa.
-The others were just alright to bad to me.
OMG! I totally forgot about that rip-off skirt!! OMG! I LOOOOOOOVED that!! It's like, wedding in the day, *whoosh* and party all night!

I liked Alexandra just because she did something "different" than you've ever seen. It was creative!!! I've seen all the others except for Austin which I will not even dignify with a review. Just because you are creepy and strange doesn't mean you are really GOOD at design work. He should have been axed last week. They are only keeping him on for entertainment value and Michael Kors would not eliminate a man before a woman. Nora has way more talent than him and Austin has screwed up two weeks in a row so it's clear they are keeping him on for his crying jag entertainment value.
On the other hand, Robert's was just a no thought gimmick that's been done a million times on the runway. Kara's was beautiful but can be seen in an old movie but just not as low in front or back. The fabric and fit were perfection and she derserves props for that. I really think that Jay has a lot of talent and impresses me the most with just what he can come up with. I loved Wendy's dress but the red put me off as well. I think maybe a beige color for the contrast would have been the bomb and she would have won. It was so elegant when the model was walking along the runway. I have slow mo option on my TV so it was a vision to watch in slow motion. Kevin's was just an evening gown with stuff on it. Seen it, worn it. Good thing he was safe because I thought as much as Nora's we've seen that design before too.
Love the show!!!!! I love fashion.
What did you girls think of the models boyfriends from the last episode??? one of them looked familiar.
I just watched the show, and I really enjoyed it, although I would say that wedding dress fashion is my favorite. I had the experience of selecting my own wedding dress about 3 years ago, so this definitely caught my attention in a way that it would not have several years ago. I thought that Nora deserved to go, but I also think that Kevin got VERY lucky that he had a "pass" because if he had had to defend his dress with the model/brat on stage, you know she would have sold him out and told everyone how disappointed she was, and how itchy the dress was, and that would have gotten him eliminated for not giving the client what she wanted. So, instead they had to go the other extreme and eliminate the designer that gave her client too much of what she wanted, and none of what Nora wanted (although I thought it was a nice touch that Nora wore one of the roses as an ornament on herself - kind of like finding solidarity with a dress that really wasn't hers.) I thought it was kind of smarmy of Nora to tell Melissa (my favorite model on the show, by the way) that she's a "good designer" when she told the camera very humorously that she wasn't, and that none of the girls were. That must have hurt Melissa's feelings when she watched, and I thought it was entirely unnecessary.
Austin? Well, I love him, and don't find him creepy or weird in the least (overly emotional and demonstrative, yes), but I thought this dress was rather hideous. However, the "bride" claimed she was very happy, and that counts for a lot, especially in a challenge of this sort. I would have got in some kind of white, even just a creamy white short overskirt, with that interesting leapard/turquoise print as maybe a clingy corset piece. But whatever, he heard Heidi say a red miniskirt could be a wedding dress, and he took them seriously, but I don't think that comment was meant sincerely.
Most to me were just meh. Jay's was amazing, and I loved watching him work with Morganza. Kara's was also divine, and I agree with the people above that said that you could see the superior cut and workmanship in the way it fit the model so perfectly.
I have to break ranks with some of you, though, and claim my admiration for Robert's breakaway skirt. I wore a long skirt, and I would have loved to have that option for my own dress. It's a fantastic (though not wholly original) idea.
I also liked Wendy's use of the red. Her design, particularly the back, was very bold and modern, and I think a strong color like red accented what she wanted to accent, and complimented her design much better than another shade of white or pink would have done. I'm even down for the red shoes! But in general I'm not a fan of hers, and I really don't like her scheming attitude.
This show rocks my damn world! Thank you BRavo!
