Q: How would you describe your design philosophy or point of view?
I am an interpretive designer. I design feminine clothes for the sophisticated woman.
Q?:What would someone close to you describe as your best and worst traits?
Best: superior ability to interpret my client's needs through personal attention. Worst: time management.
Q:What was your most embarrassing moment?
I made a chiffon dress with infinite hand-rolled hems and layers on the bias for a ballerina receiving the Princess Grace Award in New York. It was held together by only a few stitches at key points, ...and it fell off as she was leaving her room
Q:What is an odd fact or talent you possess?
I spoke Tibetan during college, when I lived in Nepal.
Q:Who are the designers you admire most?
Valentineo, Chanel, Dior, and Yves Saint Laurent.
Q:What are your favorite fashion magazines?
Collezioni, Bazaar, Elle.
Q:What are your favorite TV shows?
Anything on PBS, Joe Millionaire, The Sopranos.
Q:What are your favorite movies?
Sappy, happy comedies, the world is too stressful. And Troy — Brad Pitt in anything.
Q:If you could design an outfit for any living person, who would be your dream client and why?
My dream client would be Keira Knightley, the actress who recently appeared in Pirates of the Caribbean. I prefer to design dramatic evening dresses that call for a statuesque woman with poise and grace, qualities I feel Ms. Knightley exudes.
