Time has slipped away from me and I just realized today I better start registration for the pool! I haven't worked out the points schedule yet but will do it later in the week. For now, just let me know if you're interested in playing. I'll have you pick your team and team captain later.

Since this season involves the designers working in teams, I might have to change my scoring and how we'll pick teams after the first episode. I don't know if designers will stay on the same team the whole season or if who's working together will change each episode.

No, Snow Bunny. I always let people see one episode of a show before picking their contestants. I can't even work up the points schedule for the pool until I see the first episode because I don't know how the team thing is going to work. Will teams change week to week? Will both members of the team be eliminated each week? After tonight, I'll be able to figure out the points and your team selections will be due before the second episode airs.

The same with the Survivor and Amazing Race pools when they start. You won't have to finalize your teams until the second week of the show.

I'm just afraid this Teams concept is going to rachet up the drama factor 100%. More drama and less designing. Ugh.

SIGNING UP FOR THE POOL

Here's the information you need to register for the pool.

1. Choose a team name.
Use your forum name if you like but it's more fun to pick a creative name. You may also choose a smiley from this forum to be your team mascot (optional).

2. Choose one designer to be your Master Designer.
They'll earn double points for you. When your Master Designer gets eliminated, you won't be able to earn double points from any of your remaining designers.

3. Choose four designers to be your Apprentice Designers.

4. Choose two designers to be your Reserve Designers.
They'll come into play when your other designers get eliminated. Designate one as reserve #1 and the other as reserve #2 so when you lose your first designer, your 1st reserve designer will be put in the game and when you lose a second designer, your 2nd reserve player will come into play.

5. Your pool picks must be in by January 31st, before the second episode airs.

Gosh, all the years I've watched PR, and the few years I've followed it on here, I've never really understood the Pool, much less tried to join in.
Maybe, just MAYBE, I'll give it a try this season!

Not sure I can come up with a team name as good as Red Lobster Biscuits, tho.

Cubsfan: I think pools are a lot of fun and just something to add to the enjoyment of the show. It's neat to see if you can guess at the beginning of the season which designers will do well in the competition and which ones won't. The interesting thing is that the more years I've been in pools, the better I seem to do in them (on average). It's like you start being able to tell who's all empty bravado and who really has the goods. Or in the case of Survivor, you start being able to tell who's going to be targeted as a threat, who's going to be tossed-out asa a do-nothing, and who people are going to want to keep until the end because they think they can beat them at jury votes.

I hope you will decide to play in the pool! You can use Cubsfan as your team name if you prefer so you don't have to rack your brain coming up with a cute name and after you choose your team, you don't have to do anything else. I'll keep up with the scoring so all you'll have to do is check back to see how you're doing in the pool and if you won at the end!

I've been in pools where you have to answer question weekly, do tasks, work with a partner, etc, and I don't like those. When it gets too complicated, it's not fun anymore!

Haha, I just had a thought...you could name your team after something else on Red Lobster's menu, like the mashed potatoes, popcorn shrimp, or Bahama Mama.
