Week 1: Redemption on the Runway
Challenge: Two teams create a mini collection with “attitude”.
Budget: $250 per designer
Episode details
* The designers are working together in two teams to create a mini collection. They will be given a list of attitudes to choose from or they can pick their own. They have to each create a look, but they all must be cohesive. The losing designer will come from the losing team. Joanna pulls out two names randomly to pick members for their teams.
* Kayne is first and on his team are Uli, Casanova, Ivy, Althea, Anthony Ryan and Wendy (the last one left). They pick “Confident” as their attitude. They choose leather and lace at Mood to convey their attitude.
* Joshua is first on the other team and his team consists of Peach, Laura, Emilio, Andrae and Suede. They choose “Bold” as their attitude. Bold speaks to them in a color palette of black and blue.

Week 2: Put On Your Dancing Shoes
Challenge: The clothiers revamp a disco look from the 1970s and must step it up by selecting shoes to inspire them.
Budget: $200
Episode details
* The designers are to create a modernized disco party outfit inspired by a shoe from the Nine West collection.
* After a stressful day in the workroom, a makeshift disco party back at their hotel helps the group unwind.
* A video from Karl Lagerfeld, wishing them good luck and to have fun, boosts everyone’s spirits.

Week 3: Up Your Aerosol
Challenge: The clothiers join forces with graffiti artists to create wearable art featuring spray paint.
Budget: $50
Episode details
* The designers learn tips and techniques for using spray paint to create art from three of the best aerosol artists--Zimad, Sen 2, and Meres One.
* Kayne takes time to talk to the artists during sketch time and still manages to make an outfit that puts him in the bottom two.
* Everybody hates Laura Kathleen, as she's managed to offend everyone in the workroom, and she hates all of them. Especially Ivy, for some reason.

Week 4: Made in the USA Today
Challenge: Fashion meets social media when images submitted by newspaper readers inspire the all-star clothiers' looks.
Budget: $150
Episode details
* The designers each choose a picture submitted from USA Today readers to use as inspiration to create an outfit, along with a headline. The winning designer gets an editorial in USA Today.
* There are two HP computers available for the designers to look through images so they pair up in teams of two for that part of the challenge. Emilio gets to go first since he won last week’s challenge and chooses Casanova to accompany him. Then Althea and Ivy get their turn, followed by Kayne and Uli, then Anthony and Joshua. No one wants to team up with Laura so Andrae gets stuck with her at last.
* Joshua talks to Laura about how she’s coming across to the other designers.
* Mentor Joanna Coles couldn’t decide if Andrae’s idea for his outfit was bonkers or brilliant. The judges apparently decided it was bonkers.

Week 5: You’ve Got Male
Challenge: The designers create edgy, androgynous apparel in a challenge that comes with a twist. They’re to make an avant garde look for their female model, plus an accompanying look for a male model.
Budget: $150 for their male model’s look and $150 for their female model’s look
Episode details
* Ivy helps pay for Casanova’s materials when he goes overbudget at Mood, plus assists him with his design when he gets in a quandary.
* Kayne asks his male model if he likes girl or boys (small talk or angling for a date?). When he says he likes girls, Kayne says he has sisters he can fix him up with.
* Joshua talks about making ass-less chaps for his male model but Anthony Ryan wisely talks him out of it, saying it would be vulgar. Later, Joshua models the tunic Anthony Ryan is making for his male model.
* Uli catches mentor Joanna Coles off guard and gives her a laugh when she mentions having to adjust her pants after her male model tried them on because there wasn’t much ball room—and she wasn’t referring to dancing.
* Kayne about sends his model down the runway with a yellow smiley face on her shirt but after a negative reaction from Joanna, he nixes the idea. Maybe he should have gone for it, since he ended up being eliminated after all. Smile though your heart is breaking!
* The other designers criticize Ivy behind her back for helping Casanova, saying that since this is an all-star season each one of them should pull their own weight. Joshua gets snippy with Ivy backstage after the runway show but she refuses to be baited into an argument.

Week 6: Green Dress for the Red Carpet
Challenge: The all-star clothiers must design green, eco-friendly red-carpet gowns.
Budget: No money given.
Episode details
* The designers go to High Line Park in New York City to find out about their challenge.
*Instead of going to Mood, the designers will be using AirDye fabrics and recycling embellishments from previous challenges. As last week’s challenge winner, Emilio gets to pick his fabric first. Anthony Ryan is next, then Ivy, Casanova, Joshua, Laura, and Uli. Althea is last.
* Carolyn Murphy will be wearing the winning look to her next red-carpet event.
* Emilio and Casanova talk trash about Uli in the workroom using Spanish. The other designers say they’ll find out what they said when the show is aired with subtitles.

Week 7: An Unconventional Nightmare Before Christmas
Challenge: The seven still-standing designers take on an unconventional challenge with a holiday theme.
Budget: $350
Episode details
* The designers have 30 minutes at a Christmas store to shop for materials. The catch is the finished product shouldn’t look like it came from a Christmas store.
* The winning designer gets an additional prize of a watch from Fawaz Gruosi.
* Joshua goofs when he buys an item thinking it’s a rolled up piece of nifty blue fabric, only to discover that the blue fabric is just a sleeve for a Happy Hanukkah sign. He laughs it off and makes it work.
* Casanova starts over three times, starting his last do-over about 3 hours before the end of the workday. He still lost so maybe he should have stuck with what he started in the first place instead of hemming and hawing.

Week 8: Flapper Fashion Face-Off
Challenge: The clothiers face off by fashioning looks that are inspired by vintage 1920s events.
Budget: $250
Episode details
* The designers chose envelopes that contained one of three social events in the 1920’s—an afternoon garden party, an afterhour speakeasy, and an evening social soiree. The two designers with the same event would be competing against each other.
* Emilio and Joshua got the garden party, Anthony Ryan and Ivy got the speakeasy, and Laura and Ivy got the soiree.
* Emilio and Joshua playfully fought over the same fabric at Mood.
* Laura derided Uli for using feathers in her design so much, saying she was using styling to cover up for no design. In the meantime, she used fur for the same purpose. Pot, have you met Kettle?
* Ivy was asked to rate Anthony Ryan’s outfit and she gave it a 5, saying it looked more like a curtain from the 1920’s than a dress from the 1920’s. He won the challenge and she was in the bottom two, so her rating skills obviously are 0.

Week 9: There's No Business Like Sew Business
Challenge: The five remaining clothiers must meet a retail budget while creating high-fashion attire.
Budget: Materials provided by Elie Tahari
Episode details
* The designers are to create a ready to wear look that can sell for $500-$700.
* The winning design will be displayed in the store windows of Elie Tahari, plus manufactured and sold for Elie Tahari’s charity, Save the Garment Center.
* Anthony Ryan gets to video chat with his boyfriend, Matthew, and Ivy gets words of encouragement from Casanova.

Week 10: All Stars and Stripes
Challenge: A tribute to the U.S. armed forces features the clothiers spinning out designs for female veterans to wear at a special event.
Budget: $150
Episode details
* Each designer was paired with a woman in a different branch of the armed forces and asked to create an outfit for her to wear to a special event.
* Joshua was paired with Leslie Nicole Smith, a captain in the Army. Her leg had been amputated below the knee and she wore a prosthetic. She’s assisted by a service dog, Isaac. She wanted an outfit she could wear to a military event and wanted something that would show her legs. She said she liked leopard print.
* Uli’s lady was Jessica Lord, a corporal in the Marine Corps. She wanted a dress to wear to a wedding and requested that it be purple.
* Emilio’s client was Lisa Dalhouse, a petty officer in the Navy. She wanted a dress for a bachelorette party in Las Vegas. She didn’t want it to be too sparkly and she asked for it to be yellow.
*Anthony Ryan’s woman was Donna Barrios, a captain in the Air Force. Donna needed a dress for her 40th birthday party. She wanted it to be long, strapless, and she said she was a “boob hider”. She preferred to take the focus off them.
*Joshua revealed that his brother is in the army.
* Back at their apartment, the final four talked about how Anthony Ryan was the only finalist to not come in second place in his season. He came in fourth. Uli was second to Jeffrey in season 3, Emilio was second to Seth Aaron in season 7, and Joshua was second to Anya in season 9.
