Week 2: Unconventional challenge
Challenge: Create a look made from candy from Dylan’s Candy Bar. The designers had $250 to spend on materials, plus a 50% discount at Dylan’s.

Week 3: Teamwork creating Emmy-worthy looks for past Project Runway designers
Challenge: The designers worked in teams of two to create one runway design for former Project Runway contestants. The color of their Lexus GS vehicle must be seen in the final garments. Each pair had $300 and one day to complete the task. The winner also gets the big bonus of accompanying his/her client to the Emmys.

Next week: Two designers voluntarily quit the competition. One eliminated designer returns.
Week 4: Day to evening wear for women on the go
Challenge: With $150 the designers were to make a stylish outfit a woman on the go could wear from morning to evening.
Guest judges: Hayden Panettiere and Rachel Roy
Winner: Sonjia Williams

Next week: Teams take creative control of their own photoshoot for Marie Claire.
Week 5: Team challenge with a photoshoot
Challenge: The designers split into 2 teams for this challenge, Team Six (Sonjia, Alicia, Elena, Melissa, Dmitry, Raul) and Team Five (Nathan, Ven, Fabio, Christopher, and Gunnar). They were given $200 per person to create a collection for working women. They would direct their own photoshoot and the winning shoot would appear in Marie Claire.

Week 6: Ven's fashion makeovers--no fatties need apply.
Challenge: Friends came on the show to nominate a lady for a makeover. The designers were to work with Johnny Lavoy, the hair stylist for L'Oreal Paris, to create a look for their client. They were given $150 and one day to finish their work.

Highlights/Lowlights:
* A designer has a disastrous working relationship with their client which leaves the other designers appalled and leads to a verbal smackdown from Heidi. Surprisingly, the designer in question was not the antisocial Elena or bitchy Gunnar--it was Ven!
* Elena jokes around in the sewing room and is sweet and friendly with her client.
* Fabio has a video chat with his boyfriend, Jason, and we get to see their kitty cat.
* The designers talk about their siblings.
* Gunnar's client puts on quite a show as she takes the runway by storm. Go on, girl!
* Michael Kors defines "hoochie mama" for guest judge Alice Temperley.
Winner: Fabio Costa
Eliminated: Nathan Paul
Next week: The female designers have a collective nervous breakdown. Many tears are shed.
Week 7: Lord & Taylor challenge
Challenge: The designers were competing to create a cocktail or evening gown that could retail between $200-$300 to be part of a capsule collection by past Project Runway designers.
Guest judge: Bonnie Brooks
Top 4: Christopher Palu, Elena Slivnyak, Fabio Costa, Melissa Fleis
Bottom 2: Alicia Hardesty, Gunnar Deatherage
Highlights/Lowlights:
* Christopher commenting about Sonjia's dress: "Sonjia. The 80's called. They want everything back."
* Elena and Sonjia hustle to squeeze Sonjia's model into her dress on time to get to the runway.
* Melissa, Sonjia, and Elena all have breakdown moments and boo-hoo. The only girl who doesn't cry, Alicia, ends up in the bottom two.
Winner: Christopher Palu
Eliminated: Nobody
Next week: The designers are in teams of three, hitting the streets of New York to beg for money to buy fabric. Looks like team Dmitry-Elena-Alicia are not getting along.
Week 8: Starving Artist
Challenge: The designers split into teams of three and have to fundraise to get money for material to make two Fall outfits. One must incude outerwear.
Guest judge: Anna Sui
Top Team: Christopher Palu, Gunnar Deatherage, Sonjia Williams
Bottom 2: Alicia Hardesty, Fabio Costa
Highlights/Lowlights:
* Elena groans at the sight of craft items to make things to sell and mutters "I don't like sparkles. I don't like glitter. I don't like any of that s***.
* Dmitry on hearing Elena is on his team moans "What I do in my past life to deserve this?".
* Dmitry later calls Elena "you little witch" and says to kill a witch you need a silver bullet and a wooden stake.
* Tim about has an apoplectic fit when he visits the workroom and sees Dmitry's dress with the darts on the outside.
* Christopher says that Elena needs a horse tranquilizer and likens she and Dmitry together to Boris and Natasha.
* Dmitry accuses Elena of throwing him and Alicia under the bus at the judging. She claims she acted distant because she was mad and he quips "You wake up mad, you're always mad!".
* Michael Kors says Elena considers herself to be the Queen of Coats but her coat looked like it was sewn with her feet.
* Another judge said Elena's emotions showed in her work. It was an angry coat.
Winner: Sonjia Williams
Eliminated: Alicia Hardesty
Next week: Monda pays the designers a visit as they work on a challenge creating a textile.
Week 9: It's All About Me
Challenge: The designers were to create a textile inspired by their culture heritage and incorporate it into a modern runway look.
Guest judges: Mondo Guerra and Anya Ayoung-Chee
Top 3: Dmitry Sholokhov, Melissa Fleis, Sonjia Williams
Bottom 3: Christopher Palu, Gunnar Deatherage, Ven Budhu
Highlights/Lowlights:
* The designers get visit from family members. Christopher, Elena, Gunnar, Melissa, and Sonjia have their moms come to the workroom. Ven gets a visit from his sister. Fabio's boyfriend is there. Dmitry's best friend visits. They also get some family-time back at their apartments.
* Elena says she had a happy childhood and is not usually a bitch. Could have fooled me!
* Heidi says Ven's model looks like a Hawaiian airlines hostess.
* In the workroom, Tim calls Ven's print an homage to the menstrual cycle.
* During deliberations, Heidi wonders if Ven was warned about doing flower origami again and calls Tim Gunn to the judges table to find out. He confirms that he has warned Ven previously about doing the same technique over and over again and tells them about his earlier critique of Ven's design.
Winner: Dmitry Sholokhov
Eliminated: Gunnar Deatherage
Next week: The designers try to get a leg up in the competition when they visit Radio City Music Hall and create costumes for the legendary Rockettes.
Week 10: I Get A Kick Out of Fashion
Challenge: The designers try to get a leg up in the competition when they visit Radio City Music Hall and create costumes for the legendary Rockettes.
Guest judge: Debra Messing
Top 3: Christopher Palu, Dmitry Sholokhov, Melissa Fleis
Bottom 3: Christopher Palu, Sonjia Williams, Ven Budhu
Highlights/Lowlights:
* The remaining 7 designers get treated to a night out for dinner.
* Elena apologizes to Dmitry for being a bitch.
* Christopher imitates Sonjia's look in the workroom by putting a wrap on his head and wearing lipstick.
* Heidi gets to do a routine with the Rockettes. Elena plays Rockette later by herself.
* The designers get a second trip to Mood and more money to spend after Mikayla, I mean Tim, was not impressed by their looks in the workroom.
* Christopher quips that the runway this week was going to look like a gay pride parade trampled right through it.
* Dmitry clucks like a chicken describing Sonjia's feathered dress. Michael Kors calls it "disco turkey" and guest judge Debra Messing says "A moulting group of Rockettes would not be great".
* Michael Kors bestows a nickname on Ven for his signature fabric styling: Origami Rose.
Winner: Christopher Palu
Eliminated: Ven Budhu
Next week: Oh, baby! Looks like next week the show becomes Project Rugrats as the designers have to make fashions for their youngest clients ever.
