Project Runway 10 Pool

Welcome to the Project Runway pool! I’ll explain my scoring system and how you’ll chose your team for the pool.

Choosing your team:
First, you need a name for your team. You can use your forum name if you'd like but it’s more fun to create a name based on the show itself, fashion in general, your team spirit or whatever you like.
Then, you’ll select a total of five designers for your team.
Designate one of the five as your master designer and they’ll earn double points for you.
Your other four picks will be your apprentice designers.

Scoring the pool:
Scoring will begin with the second episode so that you can see the designers in action for one episode and get a better feel for who will do well in the competition before finalizing your team.

Scores are broken down as follows:

Episode Points
5 Each week in the competition
2 Being the first designer Tim talks to in the workroom
-2 Ignoring feedback from Tim and getting criticized by the judges for that same issue
2 Responding to feedback from Tim or the judges and being complimented for it
5 Winning a special challenge
2 Being selected to participate in a reward when someone else won a special challenge
2 Being the first to show on the runway

Judgment Points
10 Winning designer
5 First designer declared “In”
2 Judges liked
0 Safe for the week
-2 Judges didn’t like
-5 Bottom two
-10 Auf’d designer

Season Points
-15 Quitting the show or being kicked out
10 Make it to Fashion Week
10 Season winner
5 Season runner-up

Note about Judgment Points: Each designer will only get one judgment score so these events are not stackable. If the winning designer is also the first designer declared in, they will only receive 10 points, not 15.

The deadline to submit your team for the pool is July 25th.
Submit your team by posting in this thread or sending me your team name and designers by private message.
You may register early and make changes up until that date. Once or twice in the season, you’ll be given a chance to add or switch designers on your team. After the registration deadline, I'll post the list of all teams.

BTW, I've already decided to eliminate the points for following Tim's advice or not. I think it would be too hard to score that category each week.

After watching the first episode and scrutinizing the designers' portfolios, I've finally made my selections.

Apprentice Designers: Buffi Jashanmal, Christopher Palu, Dmitry Sholokhov, Ven Budhu

I like to choose my teams based on the style I like instead of focusing on strategy, who I think the judges will want to keep around. I don't always agree with the judges but I know what I like and I want to be proud of the designers I selected because I like their work. I might lose the pool but I'll enjoy rooting on my team!

Today is the last day to enter the pool. So far only one person other than me has submitted a team. It's not worth the effort to run a pool for less than 5 participants so if we don't get more players, there will be no pool. Please submit your entry ASAP if you intend to play, or at least by the end of the day!

That would work for me! I'm a schnapps drinker. Sex on the Beach would be a nice consolation for skipping the pool.

Haha, that makes me think...maybe we should change the pool into a Project Runway drinking game!

I don't anticpate winning this or even coming close, but it will be fun to be a little different.
