DVF must have been very impressed in Michael's talent to tell him to call her when the show was over....Good for him and all his wins this cycle. I really liked him in his first time and was amazed at how badly he was treated

My critiques:
Wow…I think the designers did better with less time than they’ve done with more time! Maybe the short deadline helped them pick an idea and stick with it instead of hem-hawing, or maybe the gelato theme went down smoothly for them.
Anthony: I liked the idea of the fans on Anthony’s dress but the construction was sloppy. I agree with the judges that the side panels gave the model an unflattering silhouette. Less would have been more in this case.
April: Another dreadful design from April. I hate the horns (for lack of a better word) at the top of the dress on the front and in the back. The whole dress lacked imagination and style. Somebody needs to force-feed April blueberries until she balloons up and then roll her off the runway.
Austin: I totally missed the catcher’s mitt accessory the model is carrying when I saw this on tv last night. I was distracted by the awful styling of the model. The dress reminds me of one done last season for the pet challenge, one of the ones done with the doggie pee pads. I don’t care for the gladiator sandals with this look, either. I get that Austin was going with a Grecian goddess look but it just looks like toga night at the frat house after a baseball game.
Jerell: Jerell really sprang back after his disaster from last week. I don’t know why his dress wasn’t in the top three. Diane Von Furstenberg gave it a thumbs-up on the runway and I second that emotion! The colors were vibrant, the seams were interesting, and the styling was contemporary. I thought it was one of the top outfits of the week!
Kara: Jerell made me laugh saying Kara’s model is rail thin and but she made her look like a fat cupcake. Hahaha! So true! Chocolate and cayenne could have gone so well together and made a hot little number but this outfit doesn’t appeal to my sweet tooth.
Kenley: Kenley didn’t surprise me at all when she said she wasn't going to do anything new because of the time constraints. How is that different than any other week?? Kenley pretty much always uses the same basic pattern. While watching this on tv, I thought her dress looked like a strawberry, with the neckline even resembling the leaves at the cap of a strawberry. However, in the pictures I don’t see that. Personally, I just don’t like this dress. The only person I could see wearing it is Pebbles Flintstone.
Michael: I didn’t share the judges’ enthusiasm for this dress. I thought it looked too bulky and I couldn’t imagine wearing it out of the house to a fancy event. It’s too much like a bathrobe.
Mila: No surprise that sourpuss Mila chose sour cherries and milk as her gelato inspiration. The only way she would have been more thrilled with the flavor was if it was made with sour milk, too. I did like the dress. However, it didn’t feel current to me. When I saw it on the runway, I was thinking that would have been a nice dress back in the 80’s. Personally, I wouldn’t have chosen this for the top three. Maybe if it had been styled differently, without the belt or the clunky shoes I would have liked it better.
Mondo: The pictures don’t do this dress justice. The colors look muddy here but last night on tv, they were so bright and even the judges commented on it so it wasn’t just my imagination or the settings on my tv. I was disappointed that Mondo didn’t win because I thought his look most fit his inspiration but wasn’t too literal. He put a lot of creativity into it and it moves beautifully.
Rami: I didn’t think much of this on the runway or looking at the pictures. It’s ok but not outstanding. I wonder why Rami wanted kiwi so badly? It doesn’t look like he felt all that inspired by it.
Although I was happy for him, I was surprised that Michael won, especially if the dress was meant specifically for Miranda. You could have hidden just about any figure under that dress.
I hated Mila's dress. Seriously . . . can she make an outfit WITHOUT color blocking something somewhere? It should not have been in the Top Three. As much as it pains me to admit it (since I cannot stand the designer) I actually thought Kenley's dress should have replaced Mila's.
I loved the polka-dotted green fabric Rami used, but the dress looked messy.
Loved Mondo's and thought it should have won.
It was a toss up for me as to who should have been sent home. Kara goes on and on about her creations when asked and I can remember during her season (when Jay - winner #1) was guest judge, that he told her "the talk doesn't match the dress". The very same thing could have been said about that layered monstrosity. For me, it would have come down to personality - although I know that's hardly a fair way to send someone packing. April annoys me. The sooner she was gone, the better. Funny how she patted herself on the back about 'using color' but when the layers were added, it ended up looking very close to black.

Kara did a very similar dress for her decoy collection back in S2. Project Runway: Kara Janx Fall 2006 RTW (Give it a second to load & the exact slide will come up.)
I just wanted to point that out--I saw it mentioned earlier today on another site and just thought it was weird she's still doing the same dress from 6 years ago. I mean, yeah, I don't expect Kenley to do a different dress ever, but I thought better of Kara. Maybe it was the stress.![]()
I like Kara and am glad she stayed. I saw photos of her collection during her season of PR and was impressed. Yes the dress she created for the challenge was similar to one she had done for her collection but the proportions were off. Kara's problem is that she really gets stressed out during this competition although she is handling this season much better then her initial one. I don't think she really produces great stuff under pressure. That being said I thought that both the bottom two had issues and it could have gone either way.

Ah, for just one time I would take the Northwest Passage.
Funny when you look at the photos Jerrell's dress looks the best. Anthony's doesn't look too bad but it would have been better if it was all in one color and what is surprising Kara's baby bump dress actually looks good in those two photos.
Mondo's and Michael's caftan's actually don't look very good either.

Wow, Miranda Kerr has come a long way! I'm watching season 2 of PR on Style right now and she walked in Daniel's show in the finale at Fashion Week. She wore that fabulous black and white jacket - the first look of the show. Might have been nice of them to note that when they introduced her as a judge this week.

I was thinking of the immortal words of Socrates, who said, "... I drank what?"
Anthony's dress was cute, but I totally agreed with the judges. Those panels on the side were just too much.
I liked the color of April's fabric, but the dress was just too literal for the challenge. It looked like she just threw some blueberry-colored fabric on the model.
Austin's dress looked very elegant. I would have rather seen him in Top 3. I do agree, though, that the styling is off.
I'm just not getting the Jerell love here. I thought his dress was a hot mess and would have gladly consigned it to the Bottom 3. I also hated the styling. What is she supposed to be? A hippie chick? She looks more like a hippie assassin.
Kara's dress actually wasn't that bad, but that baby bump doomed it.
I actually liked Kenley's dress. It was cute and flirty. I liked it more than either of the elephant-sized dresses that Michael and Mondo made.
Michael--lovely color, terrible dress. And speaking of which, was anybody else put off when he made that remark about how from now on, I expect to at least be in the Top 3?I thought the producers were showing us that edit because he would lose this challenge. That's usually how it goes on this show.
Mila--second favorite dress. I liked the funky art vibe of the fabrics and it looked pretty comfortable since the fabric was sheer.
Mondo--besides being a Roper look, the colors reminded of a carton of sherbert. I think I had this outfit to drink at my last party.
Rami--at first I didn't like this dress, but then it grew on me. I liked the play of the different shades of green and the different fabrics. Just like last week, I thought he should have been ranked higher than merely "passing".

Pan Am stewardesses: prepared for anything!
I agreed with Micheal when he got his color...he said that he expected the material to be a darker pink.....like a pink grapefruit. Since the judges commented on the paleness of the color, would it have been wrong for him to have taken a deeper color and ignored what he was given to work with?
