I'm bummed I didn't actually see any American sportswear or any complete look that Jackie would have worn, like a Geoffrey Beene, Isaac Mizrahi, or Perry Ellis (Marc Jacobs years without the grunge). Mondo's skirt was very Moschino and worked. So whimsical is not totally out of the picture (I can imagine her in Patrick Kelly, as well). Anyway, why was Andy called before Valerie?
They make the next episodes always seem intriguing. I wonder if this is the episode where Michael C calls someone (Valerie ?) a theif.
Why does the lady truck driver in Austin and Santino's show have weird (clownish) eyebrows?
I was confused by this challenge. I didn't know cocktail dresses were considered American Sportwear. I guess mondo's winning design was OK. I have not been really impressed by anything I've seen so far from these designers this season.
Lifetime airs the previous week at 6:30 pm here in Dallas. So I always get to catch up or review it again before the new show is aired. It's like 3 hours of nothing but Project Runway:)Quote:

Ivy piece was nice but I think the pants were way too long. The model kept kicking it out of the way when she turned around to walk back up the runway.
Christopher's dress was hot, but the wet rag looking thing around her neck. Yuck!
Okay is Valerie designing for Sears? That was a hot mess.
Gretchen and Valerie kills me with that "I think I know it all attitudes." They are like two old women sitting on a front porch with all the gossiping.
I really don't understand what most of the designers considered sportswear. ARe you kidding me? I thought the only one that really complied with the description was Ivy. I liked her okay. It was a great improvement over her previous work.
I thought Gretchen's should have been in the bottom too.
Those goucho capri pants were horrific. Why keep saying you love the look and stand behind it. It was pathetic. Accept it. That look was so horrible, including the shirt that looked twisted and didn't fit, that it made me angry. That's not good. As harsh as they were on him, they weren't harsh enough. IMO he has the worst design, but I understand why they kept him around.
Over all, these designers are a disappointment. Last night was a great opportunity to see some wonderful designs. What a let down.
I thought Christopher was a goner for sure. He's been in the background most of the time (well, when the judges aren't ripping him a new one) but he had so much camera time in this episode that I was positive it would be the last we'd see of him.
Glad that Mondo won. If you heard someone shouting KARMA!, that would be me :nod
Nothing really said "sportswear" to me and very little said "Jackie O".
I'm cool with Michael D going home.

Yay, I'm glad Mondo won. His look was the most Jackie-O up there and he was true to his asthetic (which seems to be really important this season).
Meh, I like Michael D. but I'm not too terribly upset he left. I never really thought he was gonna win this at all.
I did LOVE Christopher's dress but why did he decided to put a dead animal of the models shoulders?! Uhf that was awful.
I'm glad he said that. Too many designers this season are rubbing their fashion degrees and such in other people's faces. And I agree with what Michael C. said, if your upset about him winning 2 challenges then go out and win a challenge yourself!Quote:
I do agree with Michael Drummond some of the designers are snobs
I agree with the first part - only Mondo and Ivy had that pretty much correct IMHO.Quote:

That said, Jackie Kennedy was supposed to be a muse, not actual "make something she'd worn in her lifetime," as in literally from those eras.
BTW - Mondo's outfit - the one he wore, was really - really - really out there. Seth Aaron had some odd outfits for runway, but Mondo seemed to be running around in his underwear nearly IMHO. I understand have your style, but that just was a bit tasteless - a regular T-shirt with the design and pants, maybe even newsboy pants, would've been better.
