I wasn't expecting Pamela to go. I was surprised Ping was not in the bottom 2. And I saw a whole bunch of designs I didn't care for much like Jesse's. But between Pamela and Jesus, Jesus should have gone.

    Ooops....make that Pamela not Mila.

I agree watts. Jesus did not embrace the challenge he skirted the issue even with Tim telling him not to do it. I was surprised that the judges chose him over Pamela because they commented that the dye job (Pamela did) was amazing as well as the construction of the dress; not the design, as opposed to Jesus's color choices and not following directions.

    Re: 1/21 Show Discussion **SPOILERS**

I noticed the model wore Ping's thing at the industry party as a tunic over leggings. It was an interesting sculpture but totally unwearable.

I was amazed what they could do with a burlap sack in twelve+ hours. The dying and the folding many did was top notch in the winning design. I haven't picked up names yet, but I thought they all did well with the challenge - even Ping and the guy who got "rid" of the burlap altogether by making it the undergarment. Can you imagine how itchy that material was for all the models?

In the "olden" days potato sacks were made more of a cotton canvas type material, not burlap. But, burlap worked better as an out of the box experience for this challenge.

It looks to be the year of the MFWalkoff without the walk off - LOL. These designers really do seem a cut above the previous casts - at least at the starting line. It will be interesting to see how they thin the crowd. Oh - and I really like that electronics (HP) have gotten into the act. I love the electronic sketch pad they are allowed to use...no paper wadded and thrown in a basket, yet I'm sure a save function allows them to see the progression of a design. Good and fun stuff!

P.S. I notice this time they provided, or the designers asked for, plastic tubs with liners for use in dying. No more restroom sink jobs. But, then - production was probably thinking more than a few would use dyes during this challenge and were prepared.

Why don't they just save production costs and name Ping the winner right now? Clearly they're interested in seeing what she'll do, so if they give her the $100,000 right now, they can find out. She's the only personality in the bunch who's the least bit quirky or interesting, anyway, so they'll keep her around as long as humanly possible, I'm sure.

Emilio cuts strips of fabric and integrates it into a dress - we get it, let's move on.

The judges question Jesus' taste level and color sense, and he circumvents the challenge but he stays 2 weeks running anyway. What's with that?

I would think there are plenty of people auditioning for Project Runway who are talented and telegenic. This season there's plenty of talent but no one very interesting to watch (except Ping).

And why do I waste an hour of my life (plus forum time) to find out that the worst designer stays and the not-worst designer gets auf'ed?

I'm not sure I understand why Pamela was auf'd over Jesus. I didn't think her dress was all that bad, really.

Reminds me of Mitchell from last season (in his ability to not get eliminated).

I agree - that was strange. They are keeping Jesus around for some reason. Drama?

About Ping - I don't get how her dress was so creative and unique. It was just a hot mess as far as I could see. And, I think there should be a rule that if you can't even get your model's ass covered - you're out!

I was rolling when that guy was talking about Ping's dress. "Maybe it's supposed to be an a$$ flap...?" I don't know that guy's name yet, but he's the one with the black glasses and I hope he sticks around for a while.

I was really surprised that Pamela was eliminated over Jesus, especially given their comments. I think the judges just thought Pamela was boring.

I wanted Any to win the challenge, but the guy who did win also deserved it. They both did a fantastic job!! I actually really enjoyed this challenge.

Is it terrible that I simply cannot keep track of all the designers at the beginning of a season? There were two Caucasian guys with very short hair that they switched camera focus to during the runway show and with both I thought "who the heck is that"?
