Laura snags the most $$$ at PR auction

It looks like Laura and Uli were the "winners" at the Project Runway auction, collecting the most money for their designs. Jeffrey's striped zipper dress sold for about $500 less than Uli's silver mini-dress.

Laura Bennett fetched the top price of any garment featured in Season Three - $4,500 for a shimmering, floor-length gown.

The dress was one of 12 garments she designed for the final runway show in Bryant Park. Bennett, 43, of Manhattan, was the contestant who clashed in the show's final episodes with tattooed L.A. designer Jeffrey Sebelia, 36, who was revealed last week as the winner of Season Three.

His highest-priced creation - a striped dress with a complex array of zippers - sold for $2,900.

That was less than the highest-priced piece made by second-place finisher Uli Herzner, 35, of Miami Beach, whose silvery mini-dress sold for $3,425.

It's only natural that someone would spend more money on a floor-length, hand-detailed gown like Laura's.

I haven't seen that. But since the auction was probably part of the contract and the proceeds going to charity, maybe Laura wanted to keep a few of the pieces for her own archives. This would be the only way to do it.

i don't think Jeffrey's stuff is that conceptual. it just looks like its more geared toward the LA crowd.
