Aww... Robert, you sweetie! You big ol' slice of manpie heaven...![]()
I was wrong about Robert being out. Oh well, Star needed to go anyway.
Is there anyone who doesn't think Elyse should have won?
i think wendy's dress is a tame choice for banana.
starr's out -- and weepy! well, it was bound to happen. look at her hugging everyone in sight.
heidi's voice over in that last scene is like comically bad sound editing.
ohmygod those scenes from next week! a cat fight, an injury and austen crying! can't wait. good night frostlzd.
Oh no! My Robert gets hurt next week! And so does my Austin!![]()
Night Evil.![]()
OK....it was bad enough that TheStreakedOne won the damn prize (i was FLOORED) but then I see that someone makes my Austin?!?!?
*waving rolling pin in the air*
*literally*
it looked like he srounged around at the last possible second and through it all in a bag, shook it up and said *VOLIA!*
Given the fact that the man had THREE dresses going----he couldn't put together something better than THAT?![]()
TheStreakedOne really stepped up to the plate and realized *FINALLY* that she is NOT on Survivior and this show just wants you to DELIVER.
Actually, after looking at Robert's dress on the website, it's kinda nice looking than it was on the show. Only thing I don't like now about it is the straps on top.
I knew Wendy would have a strong dress this time, as her pre-show portfolio is right up BR's alley, plus she had more time to finish it. Austin's dress was lovely, but the crinoline bustle was a little much. I loved the movement in Kara's dress. Vanessa's was terrific, but that plunging neckline was not Banana Republic. I wasn't sure that Jay was going to get it, that he was just a one trick pony (and he himself was so sure either) but he did. The Chrysler Building dress was the amazing. Nora's was lovely, and had her trade mark pleating, but it kind of lost it with the peplum and bow. Kevin made a perfect little black dress, and accessorized it completely wrong. Alexandra made a nice little dress, but as Micheal Kors said, "I've seen this dress", there was nothing original there. Robert, had ideas for three great dresses, and wound up having to combine them in to one really bad dress. Luckily for him, he has had 2 previous triumphs to keep him "in". Which brings me to Starr. Poor, fragile Starr. What can I say? She tried to mix two completely different, seperate color stories. She took Art Deco to mean historical re-creation (read that as costume) not a modern wearable dress inspired by the period. I will give her credit, it was her best constructed dress yet. As much as I wanted to like her, I'm not really sorry to see her go. I will not miss her being on the verge of breaking down every judging. I'm guessing that she isn't a trial lawyer, she has no game face.
Next Week: Does Betsy Johnson really make Austin cry? Will our beautful Robert have to drop out due to scattering his brains on the sidewalk? Will the young ones out rock the ol' fogeys?
there is no energy shortage, there is a shortage of imagination
I wish I could be here when it airs. Interesting show tonight!
I loved Austin's, bustle and all. But I admit, I don't really see it in BR any time soon. In contrast, Wendy's dress was functional and commercial and marketable exactly as she explained - and boring as hell.
Starr, oh Starr. The black/red was wrong from the start. What happened to their pink and yellow line, or all the "ice blue" talk? If you look at her portfolio, she's got a "line" (maybe 3 dresses) of "saloon" dresses in black and red. It was worlds away from a store like BR.
I liked the hemline on Kevin's. I liked the fabric and neckline on Alexandra's. But neither wowed me overall.
I really liked Jay's creation. I loved how he incorporated the Chrysler building and kept it a lovely, rich, creamy gray. I would buy that dress over Wendy's any day!
