The race is back!
Where "Outback Jack" was filmed
OUTBACK JACK was shot on location in the El Questro wilderness park, located in the northwest corner of Australia. El Questro is a million-acre park near the township of Kununurra. The massive park is mostly unsettled, although some regions feature vacation resorts popular with tourists.
The Kimberley region is larger than all of Great Britain, but boasts only 25,000 residents. It is one of the world's last unspoiled frontiers. It is an ancient land extending from Broome in the South West to Kununurra and Wyndham near the Northern Territory border.
Some other unforgettable attractions of the region include the Bungle Bungle Range, in Purnululu National Park. The orange-and-black striped mounds of rock are a striking geological phenomenon. They look like giant beehives, and they shelter cooling gorges, crystal-clear pools and fan palms.
Kununurra serves as the gateway to Lake Argyle, which is more like an inland sea than a lake. Freshwater crocodiles cruise beside tour boats on the Ord River, and the wetland bird life and dramatic cliff scenery are superb.
Cable Beach in Broome is renowned as one of the most stunning beaches in the world, with twenty-two kilometers of pristine white sands fringing the turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean.
