Re: The Great British Baking Show (PBS)

To clarify the confusion on how the seasons are being numbered:

"PBS aired season 4 and season 5 of TGBBS and they are calling it season 1 and 2 here in the US.

    Series 1 (2010)
    Series 2 (2011)
    Series 3 (2012)
    Series 4 (2013)
    Series 5 (2014)
    Series 6 (2015)

These are the years the seasons aired in the UK we are getting them later. " (from mypost #1918 over on the Masterpiece Theater thread).

We are currently watching season 3 in the US but is known as season 6 in the UK.

Good news they are doing season 7 in the UK this year.

I have watched all 6 seasons as well as the 3 Australian seasons and 1 US season
It is one of my all time favourite shows, the UK version that is and the Australian version is exactly the same format but they changed it a bit for the US version and it was not as good IMO

I love how there is no bitchiness or horrible contestants or drama they all get on and help each other out and seem so genuine
Plus they get to go home each week and practice and the results of the baking are just brilliant and make me actually think that I could bake the things they bake, i love baking and they so inspire me until I look up some of the show stopper recipes on the web site and reality hits, no flippin way could I make that

For baking enthusiasts, this article has a few recipes from Paul and Mary. Intimidating, but gorgeous.

Just recently finished watching Season 6 and checked out the first episode of Season 2. It's really very peculiar how different an earlier season is, that first episode didn't showcase all the bakes as I saw them doing in Seasons 5 and 6, it feels like a typical reality show that not everyone is showcased in episode 1, so it's cool to see how the show has improved on itself that in more recent seasons everyone gets some screentime from the very first episode.

I watched the Final of season 6 and was thrilled with the winner(s). (Yes, They were each a winner in my book.) They each moved me to tears with their touching and endearing remarks. So happy they achieved their own perfections. Well Done!

I am up to the semifinal of Season 6 and look forward to next's week finale. It would be nice it PBS would coordinate better how they air the episodes as it rains havoc on those of us who want to discuss them.
