Paul Hollywood decided to stay with the show. I've read who the new hosts and one new judge are, but I don't recognize their names.

Yeah, Paul stayed. And Mary didn't leave because she didn't want to do the show without Mel and Sue, she left because she didn't want to leave the BBC. I think she might have announced her departure before Mel and Sue even. The new network (Channel 4) does air commercials so I guess if they air it in the US on PBS it won't take up the full hour. I am not sure when/if it would air in the US in its new iteration, as they haven't announced exactly when the new version will air in the UK even. I know the US is behind in airings, and they were airing seasons out of order, so they must have at least one unaired season with the original format and judges they can show, if not more.
Before we begin, what are the parameters of the guessing game? How many guesses do I get? Is there a time limit?

From what I've read, the ladies decided to quit the show out of sheer loyalty to the BBC after so long, in which case I say, good for them, that's something I find admirable. I'll give the new season a try, but already I'm going into it deflated, it simply won't be the same without them.

The ladies give me a good vibe, but the new guy instantly made me think "Did Loki just get invited for tea and scones?"

I found this offer in my Bookbub offerings for today. Ruby is the tall philosophy student who loved bread. She made it to the finals, but not the win. You can purchase for Kindle or ibooks.

    Crumb
    By Ruby Tandoh

The Great British Bake Off contestant Ruby Tandoh highlights the pleasures of casual, fuss-free baking! With sweet and savory recipes for breads, cakes, pies, and more, this down-to-earth cookbook will delight readers!

It also comes in hardcover. I found in that section that she wrote a previous version of the cookbook in 2014, the year she was on the show.
