    Re: Alone - History Channel

I did wish that they had shown a little bit of everyone in episode 1 but I guess the story dictated how they would edit the first episode. I know Desmond was super spooked by what he felt in the woods ... hey listen to your gut and he did get out of there but I thought he would have lasted the night. After seeing his large family and how people orientated he seemed I thought "really" being alone would be hard for him. Still 6 hours or so.

I feel for Larry and his site, I hope he has better luck next episode.

Considering how hard it was for folks to start fires season 1 I hope Mary Kate can get her gear dry.

Surprisingly, Tracey seems like the most centered person there.

Didn't even realize this was back on. Now I see the epis on my DVR. I hope there will be another guy who is mini-crush-worthy.

Didn't Mitch from last season basically spend most of the season with his gear damp?

Just finished epis 1 & 2. Desmond wasn't a surprise, but come on! What about the other 10 who trained and didn't make it? I feel really bad for whomever was #11. Re Tracy and Mary Kate, there is actually a 3rd woman. Can't remember her name, but she's from Portland. I'm waiting to see if she continues to wear skirts in the cold. I hope all 3 go far. Larry is really hard on himself and needs to snap out of it. Hopefully, surviving the night with bears will jump start that.

    Re: Alone - History Channel

The first season of Alone, I didn't follow. Just caught an episode here 'n there. THIS SEASON, I'm excited to watch the whole thing.

Poor Desmond. I grew up in the country, and being in a woods/forest IS scary if you're not used to it. His military background, I'm pretty sure, didn't have him alone in a forest.. so, fear set in.
I agree GolfGrrl, ANYONE who wasn't chosen must be annoyed to see him go after 6 hrs. He really should have pushed himsef a bit harder.. but, it was obvious. He was freaked the hell out by the fact that bears actually live there.

The guy with the steep terrain, Larry? Anyway.. I was wondering, what's stopping him from camping on the lake front? Also, why not WALK the lake front (if possible) and look for a better place to enter? I wouldn't expend all that energy climbing the mountain. Plus, when he uses his axe as a "hand hold", he's asking to lose a finger and/or limb. In the least, he's gonna hurt himself seriously.. slip with an axe in your hand and above your head. No thanks.

Just seems that when they're dropped off, they all turn around and go "well, here we go" and trudge inward. Great show, I love how they aren't NAKED, they have skills and have extensive training. Not to mention, they can possibly win 500K.

A question that my partner kept asking.. so, what if 3, 4, 5, 6 or more people make it to the end? Who wins the 500K? Is it split? Also, how long are they suppose to be out in the wilderness?

Love this show and can't wait to see the next episode.

The "end" is when there's only one person left - whether it takes 6 days, 6 weeks, 6 months, whatever. Alan was prepared to stay out there a lot longer than he did.

Many during the first season had the mind set of staying for at least 6 months and I am sure that is the mindset of these folks. To be honest in season one when they were down to the last 3 or so you started to worry about their mental health.

The beauty of this show is that the individuals set the tone of how long they will stay and one reason why the producers pick such a harsh environment.

    Re: Alone - History Channel

Well it's episode 2 and after 7 days there are still 9 people.

Ouch, I hope Mary Kate did not cut her tendon, she said she could not move her thumb.

It's interesting to hear the folks narrate, they are getting more comfortable talking in front of the camera.

We saw Mary Kate, Justin, Randy, Mike and David. I was wondering if we would see the others and if we will see the first seven days for them next week?

Randy concerns me as he seems to be beating him self up for not doing better and I worry as since he doesn't fish he has ignored that potential source of food at first.
