Re: Submissive Wives Guide to Marriage-TLC

After about two minutes of listening to/looking at this this, I got the gist of what it was about.

    I turned the channel.

I'm in mourning for the couple of minutes of my life that I will never get back.

I don't know if it was a special or if it's a new series.

If it's a new series, I seriously don't think it'll be airing for any significant amount of time.

    As well it SHOULDN'T.

    JMHO.

My thoughts exactly.... I was in utter disbelief! I wanted to smack the crap out of that blonde woman ( Tara??). I won't be watching that again.

Did anyone watch "Retro Wives" that was on after this? I didn't. The intro was enough to make me turn the channel. Plus Naked and afraid was on.

I saw at least one of the families were from Cary, NC. (Wake County) My county! It was a little weird. I didn't see much. The part I saw was where the daughter was wanting a social media account and the mother saying no. I think the dad said yes. I didn't hang around, so, I have no idea what happened. I guess dad's word goes, right?

I watched them both and found them fascinating, in a very creepy kind of way -- although if I had to compare them, I would much prefer the 50s lifestyle rather than the Submissive Wives lifestyle. At least with the 50s lifestyle, the husbands and wives both seemed to be pretty much equals in their relationship, and have found something fun and/or fullfilling to enjoy together. The Submissive Wives lifestyle kind of reminded me of some of the fundamentalist polygamous Morman marriages that we hear so much about, in which the husband is the absolute boss and ruler of the roost -- in a very subserviant and unhealthy way.

Oh, and by the way, Debb, when the dad said the daughter could be on social media, I fully expected the wife to try to wheedle her way out of that decision, but she didn't. She just said that even when she disagrees with her husband, he makes the final decision and she accepts it.
