Well, duhhhh!!!!! He can't, or doesn't want to. He either is just not into her, or he's only able to be concerned with his OWN feelings and well being. It just seems like any compromise he makes with Monet is only because he feels he is obligated to.

Re: Jamie and Doug, I think they WILL make it. And I think that eventually, now that Jamie is liking Doug, when she finally does get to know his family and they get to know her, I think they'll all see that Jamie is a very sweet lady and a good person, who could be a really, really good partner for Doug. And I also kind of sympathize with and understand Doug's mom's hesitation about Jamie, cause they got off on a really bad note when Jamie had a total melt down at their wedding, and the family hasn't had any chance to get to know Jamie yet. But they will eventually, and I hope they'll all really like each other.

My favorite couple is still Jason and Courtney and I am really hopeful that their relationship lasts. Fingers crossed for them!
I hope you're right about Jamie and Doug. I think the experts did a great job matching them. If it doesn't work out, I think the blame will be on Jamie. Either she won't be able to open up - she does still make little comments, pushing him away - or she just won't fall in love with him. It happens; the person can be absolutely perfect for you and be exactly what you're looking for and you still don't fall in love with them. It's happened to me and it sucks!

I wonder how much relationship experience Vaughn has had. Not sex experience, but actual relationships. He seems clueless as to how to speak to a woman. Is he getting his conversation tips from porn? Who asks about three-ways at dinner? That seems like something that could be discussed when the relationship is more established and there's a lot of trust. Otherwise, it's just porn-y and that doesn't strike me as Monet's style at all. It's certainly not the way for him to build trust with her. I don't think Vaughn is the norm in this respect, but it seems like military life kept him from maturing emotionally, at least where relationships with women are concerned. I've been impressed by the concessions he has made - moving into Monet's home, especially - but then he has to go and act like a jerk. It would be nice if they could get it together and yes, all marriages are work, but this one seems like it would be ALL work. If they didn't have any sexual chemistry either, I don't think they would have ANY chance as a couple. Still, if they're already fighting on their honeymoon and taking breaks from each other a week into the marriage, I don't see much hope.

Count me in as one who thought this show would be a trainwreck.........but I have really been enjoying it too. I missed the first 3 episodes so I got to see those all at once with On Demand. And I was crushed when I realized I would have to wait another week to see another episode.

I felt so bad for Jamie because at first I thought the experts had mismatched her. But now I think she would be nuts to walk away from this relationship.

Funny, early on the experts said that "on paper" Vaughn and Monet were the best match. And clearly theirs is the absolute worst of the three. Monet does not stand a chance with a guy like Vaughn though. I cannot even imagine the woman that would put up with him.

I also hope they to this show again. I hope they know how much we are liking it!

I love this show too. Am rooting for all three couples. Saw a recent Instagram of Vaughn holding a Men are from Mars book, so I even have hope for them..

Can someone tell me how to post a spoiler bubble?

I may have a spoiler from another person's Instagram...

    Re: Married At First Sight

I too am enjoying this show and totally excited that there is finally a forum to discuss... as I don't think I could openly admit that I like this show to friends

When I was watching the the Casting episode, I was "confident" that Jason/Courtney and Vaughn/Monet were going to make it and they were my favorites... and I really hated Jamie and felt so sorry for Doug. Now I just really dislike Vaughn. Ugh, jerk.

My only gripe about this show is how the show feels the need to recap whenever it comes back from commercial break!! Really, every freakin time?!?!

Someone said this was renewed for a 2nd season??

And I giggle whenever I hear anyone says "Dr. Pepper" on the show.

    Re: Married At First Sight

I love that so many of us are addicted to this show! I got my mom hooked this weekend when they aired a little marathon of all the episodes. She stayed up until 1am watching.

According to Jamie's Twitter (and forgive me if someone mentioned this upthread and I missed it), they will be filming a reunion/disunion episode in about a week.

According to imdb and everywhere else I've looked, there will be 8 episodes this season. Has anyone found different info?

When you post a reply, look for the "Go Advance" button next to it. One of the options (ie, changing font, color, etc) will be to wrap spoiler or something... hover the cursor over them and it'll tell you what each one is.

possible spoiler about Cortney and Jason....

This past Sunday, Cortney posted the following picture on her Instagram:

    @KortKneee_Rae: Relaxing Sunday #jamespatterson #snacks Instagram

Notice her bed is up against a wall. The bed in her and Jason's joint apartment is in the middle of the room.

Makes me nervous they may not have made it...

I'm liking this show, too. I have the same impressions of the couples as you all do. I really want Jamie and Doug to make it!

I wonder if they will do a season two. If you remember, they had chosen several other people who were good candidates. I thinl its fascinating and I want so much for all three to make it longterm.
